The Power of Straightness with Jessica Stalling
When it comes to showjumping flatwork, Jess Stalling’s first priority is to ensure the horse is going straight and responding to her hands, seat and legs. “It’s a simple fact that the straighter your horse is, the better he’ll be able to push off his hind legs equally. This will allow him to maintain power and ensure his technique in the air is correct - with square shoulders, even legs, and no twisting; it also makes it easier to stay on track to the next jump.”
In this issue, Jess shares her knowledge and expertise in training straightness with simple tips and tricks to think about as a rider, as well as ways to test just how straight you are.
