DRN1 would like to acknowledge the people lost in the Bondi terror attacks. I would also like to acknowledge the families and friends of those who have past.
While Australia is a safe place to live, there unfortunately is those few who wish to harm and hurt people in unimaginable ways. Australia is a lucky country and we all should be standing by those taken from the world in such a horrible way.
Please make sure you hug your loved ones tight, reach out a hand to those feeling hurt by the news that shook this great country and please know that wherever you are from you are welcome and we extend love and support to the families of loved ones at this very difficult time.

Today on World AIDS Day, DRN1 and all our staff pause to recognise those living with HIV/AIDS and to remember the loved ones we have lost. Time will never heal the tragic loss of those who were first confronted with this devastating disease, and we extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and communities forever changed by it.
We also honour the pioneers, advocates, and frontline fighters who refused to give up. Thanks to medical advancements and their determination, HIV is no longer a death sentence. Today we stand in solidarity, remembrance, and hope.

When it comes to listening to music in this digital world there are so many ways to do it, either via YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Google Music or the old fashioned Radio, where you get the commercial artist thrown down your ear canal over and over again.
DRN1 is different. We are proud to show real talent, and artists that listeners may never of heard before but will quickly fall in love with. Sure, the music might not get publicised by major labels, and may not have the budget to get old styled radio stations playing. But, why should music come down to how much money you can throw at an artist just to hope that the listeners will end up buying said track or album?
What makes DRN1 different is the stories that music tells. For some artist it's the story of love and others heartache. While on the other hand some artists just want to share their story of stuggle and addiction and show their fans it's ok to feel down, sad, depressed and eventually one gets to the part of life where they demand change to be happy, to dance, jump, be joyful and be loved.
The Sound of Healing
DRN1 team come from a range of life experiences we all have a story including our listeners. At the core of DRN1 we believe music heals or at the very least music lets you feel your not alone.
Over the coming months and as DRN1 grows we want to bring you a station that is not shouting at you. We are aiming to be the station for things that matter to our community.
The Sound of Programs
Some topics we may not always see eye to eye on. Some content that you will hear on DRN1, you maybe all for or all against but it is about having those hard topics that commercial radio just wont have. Have you noticed some podcasts might gloss over the topic one week, but never come back to it and discuss in further details.
Our aim here at DRN1 is always be the station asking the hard questions and hoping to heal parts of the community that feel their voice and their issues are not covered or represented.
The Sound of UNITY!
DRN1 is all about us coming together and celebrating good music, health, happeness, freedom and you our listeners. Because at the end of the day we can pump out the tunes and the shows but without having us all unite and come together were just another broadcaster shouting to people. So lets show the world that fresh artist, fresh stories and a fresh sound is how we unite together.
