Have you had a Grüner Veltliner wine before?
If not, you’re in for a treat! 🍷Grüner Veltliner is a fascinating wine. It’s originally an Austrian white, celebrated for its crisp acidity, vibrant citrus flavours, and often a delightful hint of white pepper that dances on the palate. This versatile wine has a remarkable ability to pair beautifully with a variety of dishes—everything from light salads and seafood to the more adventurous spicy Asian cuisine.
Now, imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon a Grüner Veltliner from a place you wouldn’t expect—right here in the Limestone Coast of Australia 🇦🇺. Yes, you read that right! This particular expression from @wangolina is the only one of its kind in this region, Mount Benson wine region, from where the Limestone Coast meets the Southern Ocean , making it a truly special find.
🥂The flavours are simply enchanting. Think yellow stone fruits and blossoms, mixed with crisp apples and zesty citrus, all layered with hints of those earthy, vegetal notes that are so true to the variety. It’s a wine that’s as intriguing as it is delicious, and the best part? It’s great value for such a unique and memorable experience.
This is definitely a wine to savour, whether you’re enjoying it on its own or pairing it with something equally delightful, like a dish of poached fish and fresh vegetables. Cheers to discovering something extraordinary in every glass!
🥂Sip and Savour Mindfully!
🍾 Time to pop open this Champagne, a delightful gift from my Aussie sis! Two challenges await: opening it myself (I prefer the surprise pop!) and sipping it on the rocks. What could be more fun?
🤩 They say, adding ice to wine, especially rosé, is totally a thing in France! Known as a “piscine” (pool), it’s a popular way to chill out in the southern heat. And it’s not just rosé—Corsicans even drop ice cubes into red wine. So, Champagne isn’t necessarily sacred, people have been drinking Champagne over ice since the 1960s. Known as Champagne à la piscine, or “at the pool,”
🍾Champagne houses have released editions of their own blends to be enjoyed over ice. Moët & Chandon with Ice Impérial, Pommery also chimed in with their version called Royal Blue Sky, Piper Heidsieck French Riviera Edition, and Veuve Clicquot with Rich.
🥂What’s the verdict, you ask? We tried @moetchandon Ice Impérial Rosé both with and without ice, and it’s definitely better on the rocks! The flavours were more dynamic, a bit sweeter, and perfect for a fun twist, but without ice, it was just a tad too rich. No surprise there—these ice Champagnes are brewed sweeter and more intense, just waiting for that icy balance!
So, would you stick to traditional Champagnes and save these ice styles for parties and summer sips? Or do you have an even cooler idea in mind to share with us? Chime in with your thoughts in the comments! ✍🏽
🍾 Cheers to cool sips and all the adventures!🥂
🤔Have you ever wondered why people assume Rosé is just for women? It’s a funny misconception, right? But let’s put that aside and dive into something even more surprising: did you know that French Polynesia, especially Tahiti, produces its own wine and even boasts its own appellation? Yes, you read that right!
🌱 Regardless of the volcanic origin of the islands, the vineyards, mostly run by Domaine Dominique Auroy, are cultivated on coral atolls, giving the wine a truly one-of-a-kind terroir. Despite the challenges of a tropical climate, they manage two harvests each year.
🍇With grapes like Muscat de Hambourg, Carignan, and Italia, Tahitian wines are known for their tropical fruit notes and vibrant profiles.🥂These specialty wines offer a unique experience reflecting their exotic terroir.
🥂🍷Sipped here, Vin de Tahiti by Domaine Dominique Auroy: Blanc de Corail and Rosé Nacarat. Appellation Atoll (île) de Rangiroa.
😅So, were you among the few in the dark about this? If so, you’re not alone. Please, chime in and let us know your thoughts!

What happens when you blend Orange Muscat and Riesling grapes? Meet Miss Piggy 2023! @blackandgingerwine 🥂
Blending Orange Muscat and Riesling creates a wine that harmonizes the vibrant, floral, and citrusy notes of Orange Muscat with the crisp acidity and green apple, lime, and stone fruit flavours of Riesling.
The result? A beautifully balanced wine that’s aromatic, refreshing, and incredibly versatile—perfect for pairing with spicy dishes or indulgent desserts. Lots of flavours that dances on your palate!
And why the name 🐷Miss Piggy, you wonder? During the first vintage of Muscat they made, the winemaker lifted the lid off the tank and—surprise!—found a frog inside. This whimsical discovery immediately brought to mind a joke involving Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, leaving everyone captivated by the playful tale behind the name.
So, the next time you’re looking for a wine with character and an intriguing story behind its name, reach for Miss Piggy😅. Cheers to unexpected surprises and delightful sips!🥂
💛We often find comfort in the familiar, hesitant to venture into the unknown. But our city is more than just a collection of buildings; it’s the people we see every day, sharing in their joys and sorrows, their laughter and tears. It’s the serene park where we take leisurely strolls, and the very air we breathe that molds us. Leaving feels like leaving a part of ourselves behind, with the hope of one day returning to it.
🇦🇺Sixteen years ago, when I first moved to @australia. I won’t sugarcoat it; I wasn’t always brave. I had my moments of doubt, of breaking down, especially during those initial two years. Every day felt like a new challenge, no matter how small.
😅But you know what kept me going? The realization that growth demands a leap of faith, a resounding “yes” in the face of fear. Western Australia, with its warm embrace and boundless opportunities, became my solace. It’s home to Perth, the sunniest capital in Australia, and it welcomed me with open arms. In @westernaustralia, I learned to live like a local, and that’s when my unforgettable journey truly began.
🌟 Today, we celebrate our rich Aboriginal heritage, honor our early European settlers, and appreciate the diverse communities that call Western Australia home.
Happy Western Australia Day! 🇦🇺
What a wine!!! 😋Gather round, everyone, because I have a story that’s been aging to perfection for 45 years!
It all began in 1979 with a modest crush of grapes from a humble vineyard owned by Joe’s father. Joe and his siblings worked tirelessly, handcrafting, bottling, and labeling their first vintage. Little did they know that this small beginning would be the foundation of a winemaking legacy that would span decades.
💫 Fast forward to today, and @primoestate is celebrating an incredible milestone: 45 years of passion, dedication, and artistry in winemaking.
To honor this remarkable achievement, they’ve created a truly special limited-edition wine: ‘The Quaranta Cinque. This masterpiece combines @mclaren_vale and Clarendon Wine District Shiraz from 2022 with their JOSEPH Sparkling Red mother base wine, which holds the essence of over forty vintages of aged Shiraz.
But that’s not all. The blend is completed with a touch of their signature red, the JOSEPH Moda(the Amarone style). The result? A rich, multi-layered wine bursting with deep flavours of plum and blackberry, accented by tantalizing hints of raisin, herb, and spice.
It’s a magnificent tribute to quarantacinque anni – 45 years – of winemaking excellence at Primo Estate.
🍷So, raise your glasses high and join me in mindfully celebrating this incredible journey. Here’s to Joe, his family, and the countless memories forged over four and a half decades.
