We are disappointed over the news that, Celebrate WA, the organisation responsible for curating the WA Day Festival has elected two artists from the east coast to headline Sundays activities.

Following last years event we had hoped that Celebrate WA would have reconsidered their approach. This decision is in direct contrast with Celebrate WA’s mission “to honour and celebrate Western Australia's unique culture and talent”.

While we are pleased with the inclusion of WA artists on the lineup, we believe that Sunday’s headlining slots represents a missed opportunity to fully showcase the best our state has to offer. West Australian artists are more than good enough to take up all positions on the lineup and the approach taken by Celebrate WA tells us they disagree.

As we prepare to celebrate WA Day, let's remember the importance of celebrating everything that is special about WA including our incredibly rich pool of WA music talent.

After moving from the eastern states to pursue a degree in Jazz Performance at WAAPA, James has worked in Perth as a sideman and frontman on Sax and Vocals. 😁
Experienced in everything from jazz to funk and hip hop, James fronts the horn-heavy outfit Brass Party, which he writes and arranges music for. 👌
James has experience with improvising and sight reading, so whether you have your arrangements written out to the note, or want someone to jam it out in the studio, he has you covered. 👍
He can also arrange brass parts for your songs for multiple instruments.

With our big announcement yesterday, we thought we’d share how it all works 👍
So basically go to the website ➡️ Online Mixing and follow the prompts.
When you get to the tier section, we’ve broken it up so if you’re a singer-songwriter with up to 7 tracks it will be Tier 1 - $400 if you’ve got more than 7 tracks it will be Tier 2 - $600 (max 5mins) 7-50 tracks (+ GST)
Then check out and upload all the tracks to be mixed. 😁
When it’s all complete you’ll get a confirmation email and will receive your mixed track within 7 business days 🙌 you’ll be able to have two revisions of the track.
The more info you can give us and the more accurate your reference tracks are, the better!!! 😄
Spread the word, if you have a track you want mixed or know someone that does, let them know how easy it is!
We’re a world class recording studio and will get your tracks sounding totally schmick!

Our final secret to getting the right mix…. Well…..The secret is….we don’t ACTUALLY do the mixing… it’s this gorgeous Groodle George 🐾
His expert hearing and patience makes him the best in the biz!!! Though he doesn’t have hands so he needs help with the buttons 😂😂😂
We’ll announce our exciting news on Monday 👍 what a build up eh?! 😂

Getting the mix right takes time, the right mindset and the right lighting💡 We often dim the lights when mixing to create our own mood set. It not only allows us to focus, but it sets a “mental match” for when it’s needed. It also helps the reset button when we go into to natural light to listen with fresh ears.
