Hello! It’s me!
Quick post to remind you I’m still here and I’m still cute.
Just now something weird happened. I’m a self-employed single mum in the process of packing up home/office for a move next week and like most people there are never enough minutes in the day and always a zillion things I need to do.
Just now, after being busy packing and editing videos already for a couple of hours I noticed some beautiful sunlight streaming through my bedroom window hitting my pillow and I spontaneously decided to rest my weary back, close my eyes momentarily and really feel that beautiful winter warmth on my skin. I practiced mindfulness and took some deep breaths and really soaked in the beauty of this moment with gratitude.

Thank you for your patience if I’m taking a little longer than usual to respond. I’m seriously doing my best and I think these 5 mins spent in the sunshine and to diarise the moment are a form of self-love I’ll allow myself more often.

A week ago, I was booked to photograph the ANZAC Day ceremony on behalf of The Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for WA.

I've not been before and honestly it was a much different experience to what I was expecting.

When I'm photographing an event, sometimes I can't listen to speakers properly as I'm always scanning around looking for perfect photo moments, holding my heavy camera in place, waiting for the fraction of a second where the wind which had blown the flag around the flag pole, finally blew in just the right way as to unwrap the flag so it would stretch out the way I wanted it for that perfect shot!

The internal dialogue that goes on inside a photographer's brain would exhaust the average person.

As it's super dark (sincere apologies to all the toddlers I tripped over and coffees I knocked over having to walk against traffic to find the entrance to where I needed to be), my brain's continuously reassessing the settings on my cameras as the light slowly begins to lift and and I'm scannning the surroundings, looking for emotional responses from speakers and people listening.

I desperately want to capture the little details and moments that do their best to tell the story and convey the emotion of the proceedings. And I felt all the feels. The silence knowing there are so many people standing together, thoughts united is quite a rare thing to feel. It was a feeling of unity and utmost respect, regardless of political persuasion or religion.

There was one sentence I remember hearing properly, where the gentleman (so sorry but I can't remember his name), said he questioned whether using term "war memorial" might be more appropriately replaced with Peace memorial.

And I love that.

We decided to start introducing YouTube shorts (vertical reels) quite recently, and so far with just 35 subscribers to the channel, this little clip posted last night had 9.5 thousand views in the first 12 hours!

Contradictory to many "too good to be true" claims you might read from "experts" selling courses, there is NO magic formula and miraculous genuine explosion of genuine new followers who are going become paying customers overnight.

It's all about authentically representing your brand consistently with good quality content that's a little bit fun and entertaining as well as informative and tying it in to your overall marketing goals and strategy.

Brand Storytelling is what I do. And I collaborate with the best experts for projects too big for just me.

A fun reel I made for a fab client Tavoli Designs. The first time I met Rudi he did NOT know how to take me and referred to be curtly in a super heavy Dutch accent as "Lady" which I LOVED! He does his best to hide from the camera and constantly tells me he's "too busy" or I'm "in the way" but I think he loves me really.

Spectacular way to start the day with my gorgeous son Jacques Lee, 20.peace & Meeting For Minds lovelies!

6.30am beach meditation followed by little ocean dip, warm shower then coffee with a bunch of friendly people. Followed on with stroll to check out Sculptures By The Sea and back home by 9am with salt in my hair and peace in my heart. 🧘🏼‍♀️✌🏻🫶🏻

Join 20 Peace where we just sit for 20 mins at North Cottesloe Beach before optional swim and highly recommended coffee. 6.30am every Tuesday.

Not a tonne of people know this, but I've been working with a very special organisation for over 3 years now, Meeting For Minds making documentary films that are ground breaking in their concept and content. They’re called SYNERGIES.

I've had the honour of filming meetings between highly acclaimed Research Scientists into the brain and people with lived experience (PLEX) of mental illness, then I edit them down into short clips where they get shown to as many people as possible interested in the Brain around the world.

This is me, anxious as hell showing the wrap up films of one of our projects, which was about rTMS (Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), to a room full of Neurophysicists, Neuroscientitists, and random Professors as well as PLEX to see what was learned over those years.

You'll have to watch the films to see how it all went, but to say I'm proud of what we captured and achieved is an understatement. This was a goosebumps moment in my career and how mind blowing that these films are being shown and revealing what wonderful work Meeting for Minds does, worldwide!

Switzerland, France, Israel, and recent interest from Washington, USA.

In a nutshell, Meeting For Minds promotes and facilitates two way discussions between the Researchers into the Brain and Mental illness AND PLEX and the results are benefitting everyone!

It's not Rocket Science!

It's been an absolute thrill getting to learn all about these gifted guys Tavoli Designs, their craft, their business and working with them to up their social media game.
I've been planning, shooting/creating/posting/ managing online content for them since August.
They are the creme de la creme in their field, creating super luxe custom designed hand made embellishments from wrought iron / brass / stone / glass for house and garden that are truly breath-taking. They're also super fun and make great coffee! 🫶☕

A shot last weekend in the CBD of one of my super fun clients Freedom Fairies demonstrating their lit up hoops.

One of the more challenging things to capture in extremely low light, laying on the grass with kids running around everywhere, trying not to trip up parents, and elves / fairies / random revellers!

This crowd of lively people have energy unmatched, and are a priceless addition to any festive occasion.
