Here’s the story behind what just seems like me playing on a set of decks 👀:
For as long as I can remember I always wanted to play tunes I loved, but also wanted to give people in the crowd something new they had never heard before.
I purchased DJ equipment in 2006. Helped my mate DJ at parties, upgraded my equipment in 2010 then got my first Hardstyle gig in Scotland the day before I was due to fly out travelling in 2012. So no real traction happened but it was what it was.
With travelling and with no spare cash, years went by.
As time passed, something in 2016 made me book into LabSix, Perth’s top DJ school. I purchased updated gear in 2017 just to see what could happen.
Then it was time to learn how these tunes are actually made where I returned to LabSix in 2020 and again in 2022 to learn more about music production as my own ideas grew.
My goal when this journey restarted in 2016 was to play at Masif (SYD) due to the connection I had with it working for Defqon 1. AU.
I suppose I’m posting this to show if you can visualise then it can be done. I’m 36, so having people question why I’m trying to pick up where I left off in 2012 is the norm but glad I keep going no matter what is said.
Fast forward to 2024. To have the Masif name next to me whilst DJing still feels quite surreal but at the same time, right.
Adding D-Block & S-Te-Fan, Villain, Piestar and Cyndi to the list of top artists I’ve supported in my “comeback” is some buzz!
So a massive (pun intended) shoutout to Masif Events for giving me the Space Stage for 40mins on Friday! Ticking off thee Hardstyle club down under is something that doesn’t happen every day 🇦🇺
What next…
