Hamon Fastest in Official Practice!

Western Australia’s Jesse Hamon has this afternoon set the fastest time in practice ahead of this weekend’s Toowoomba Couriers & Transport SSA Junior Sedan National Title at the IBRP Kingaroy Speedway!

Hamon only hit the track twice, but his second outing saw the stars align for him to set the fastest overall time of 17.742 seconds.

Fellow Westralian Jacob Hill was next best, recording a 17.758 second lap in the nineteenth of thirty session that were held, just 0.016 seconds slower than Hamon.

Harrison Beres rounded out the trio of West Aussies at the top, putting down a 17.855 second lap in the twenty eighth session while Queenslander Ethan Jenner (17.874 in session 29) and Victorian River Paterson (17.920 in session 24) rounded out the top five.

The top fourteen drivers all dove into the 17 second bracket, while the top fifty drivers were separated by less than one second.

Sixty five of the sixty nine drivers remaining in the title would record a lap, with Charlie Scott, Lachie Burke and Sophie Santin electing not to practice, while Ellie Wilson will be joining the field ready for tomorrow’s action.

Grids will be posted later this evening while racing is slated to kick off tomorrow from 4pm. Live coverage will be available via Clay-Per-View, with live timing available via Race Monitor and all the results will be posted on the Speedway Sedans Australia Facebook post.

Perth Motorplex | High Limit International, USA vs WA Sprintcar Speedweek | 30.12.2024

Once the race found a rythym, we were treated to one amazing battle between two of the very best Sprintcar drivers, representing two different nations.

Kyle Larson chased down James McFadden who was looking at clean sweeping the High Limit International, winning both preliminary nights.

Here's the final laps of the High Limit A-Main

The top 5 driver introductions had some major cheers, but without a doubt, Callum Williamson has to be Perths favourite driver!

After the restart one lap was complete, we saw another two seperate incidents that unfortunately saw alot of cars tangle.

Kaiden Manders slowed on the front straight. Kerry Madsen and Ryan Newton made contact trying to avoid Manders, sending Newton around infront of the field.
Gio Scelzi tried to avoid everything but got monstered by Jason Kendrick and Ryan Lancaster. Both hurled up towards turn 1 fence, seeing Lancaster go for a big ride. Manders and Lancaster were out and okay. Madsen, Newton and Scelzi were able to rejoin.

Final night of the High Limit International 100K to win was a brutal affair. 6 laps in, two seperate incidents occured at the same time.

Daniel Harding slammed the back straight wall hard and rolled infront of the field, thankfully all drivers were able to miss him.
Brad Maiolo went over the front of Taylor Milling in turn 1 and rolled a couple of times. Brad was out and okay, Taylor managed to get looked over and rejoin to finish 15th.

Daniel, we hope you are okay and resting up, that was a huge hit.

A tough, quality field would see the green in the Sprintcar Last Chance Qualifier.
One lap in, Jamie Maiolo and Joel Ettridge came together hard on the front straight, which saw Maiolo go for a series of wild flips into turn 1. Myles Bolger did a fantastic job to avoid being caught up. Jamie and Joel were out and okay.
