As we approach the exciting transition from 2024 to 2025, we wanted to share some wonderful news with you: Centrestage Recording Studios is now a permanent fixture in the heart of Perth, within the vibrant City of Vincent.

After a successful long trial period, we’ve secured our place in the community, and we would like to acknowledge the incredible support from the City of Vincent, the WA state government, and our wonderful patrons who’ve embraced this hidden gem.

In 2025, our state-of-the-art recording studio and intimate performance space will continue to buzz with creativity. While our popular exclusive live concert events pop up based on studio availability, we can’t wait to share more wonderful public concert moments with you.

✨What an incredible weekend of music! The Hank Marvin Gypsy Jazz ensemble, featuring the legendary Hank Marvin (Lead Guitar), Nunzio Mondia (Accordion), Gary Taylor (Rhythm Guitar), and guest bassist Robbie Pisano, delivered two unforgettable performances at Perth's best-kept secret, Centrestage Recording Studios✨

The ensemble's unique and complex arrangements captivated the full-house audiences, who were thrilled by the group’s skill, enthusiasm and joy projected from the stage. It was wonderful to see many familiar faces and to welcome so many newcomers to Centrestage.

For those who were quick to secure tickets early, there was the added bonus of exclusive access to a post-concert meet and greet. Both shows sold out and the growing demand left many eager to be on the waiting list—an exciting sign of more great things to come at our hidden gem.

A big thank you to our director, Nunzio Mondia, for making the Hank Marvin Gypsy Jazz concerts at Centrestage a reality. We wish the ensemble all the best for their upcoming tour in South Australia in October.

✨Canto Italiano 2024 - A Melodic Feast of Italian Classics✨

We were thrilled to enjoy a melodic feast of Italian classics last weekend at Centrestage Recording Studios. Nunzio Mondia presented his uniquely arranged selection of Italian classics, spanning over 100 minutes of music. The performance included three contrasting duets and cross-genre pieces, creating a diverse and delightful experience.

The room came alive with the powerful voices of soprano Fiona Mariah (soprano) and tenor Jun Zhang, a newcomer to the studio. Nunzio captivated us with his creative solo accordion piece, accompanied by the talented Robbie Pisano on electric bass and Garry Howard on drums.

The event was sold out, with a wonderful mix of Italian and non-Italian concert-goers. We were honoured to welcome the newly appointed Consul from Italy, Mr Sergio Federico Nicolaci, and Vincent Mayor Alison Xamon to the studio for the first time.

Special thanks to Enzo Sirna and The Italo-Australian Welfare and Cultural Centre for their ongoing support. We look forward to future collaborations.

✨Reflecting on a magical weekend at Centrestage Recording Studios! ✨

Hats off to the musical director for bringing a wave of fresh and innovative arrangements that truly elevated the concert experience! Nunzio Mondia's piano artistry was a standout and his impromptu accordion performance, complete with an insightful explanation, added a delightful twist to the entire experience.

A round of applause for the talented musicians, Garry Howard on drums and Robbie Pisano on both electric bass and double bass! Their skilled musicianship created a captivating musical journey.

Chelsea J Gibson’s enormous vocals soared to new heights, and her energetic and creative blues harmonica playing added a unique touch to Nunzio’s challenging arrangements. A true powerhouse on stage.

Shoutout to the talented upcoming vocalist and budding songwriter, Kayla Grace, who showcased her remarkable talent on the stage.

The concerts wrapped up on a spirited reggae/rock rendition of "Feliz Navidad," turning it into a crowd-pleasing sing-along. It was heartening to witness both familiar faces and newcomers thoroughly enjoying the show and festive atmosphere.🎄

✨A Melodic Feast of Italian Classics was certainly delivered and very much enjoyed by music lovers at Centrestage Recording Studios✨

Canto Italiano is the final concert event in our inaugural Sold-Out Centrestage Concert Series.

Experienced producer Nunzio Mondia and his professional team once again presented an exclusive, high quality music event featuring great Italian classical, folk and pop favourites.

Nunzio's exceptional skills as a multi-instrumentalist, producer & musical director were on full display, the very skills that have & continue to lead Mondia into collaborations with international music industry heavyweights.

In Canto Italiano’s opening item, concert goers were given the task of recognising & naming all twelve melodies featured in the Overture of Italian Classics. The enthusiastic crowd responded & scored a perfect 100% ! Well done to everyone😉This cleverly arranged overture by Nunzio Mondia (piano) featured talented musicians Garry Howard (drums), Alistair Peel (double bass) and guest accordionist Maestro Sam Pizzata.

The beautiful voices of Fiona Mariah and Chelsea J Gibson delivered powerful performances of great classic hits such as Mi Mancherai (Ennio Morricone - Il Postino), Mambo Italiano (Dean Martin), Speak Softly Love (The Godfather - Nino Rota), Ave Maria (Schubert) and a stunning version of Puccini’s Nessun Dorma.

Talented and versatile TV presenter Tina Altieri surprised & delighted the crowd with an intimate, heartfelt ballad moment. The afternoon ended on a light note with a just-for-fun & sing-a-long-for-all impromptu performance of Dean Martin’s ‘That’s Amore’.

We acknowledge and thank Enzo Sirna AM, president of the Italo-Australian Welfare And Cultural Centre for his collaboration on the Canto Italiano project and for Mr Sirna’s ongoing services to community.

✨A magical weekend at Centrestage Recording Studios✨

Congratulations to our director Nunzio Mondia for delivering two special concerts full of intrigue & mastery. Maestro Mondia’s original ‘Pop Swings’ arrangements kept audience ears alert at all times. Special guest artists Chelsea J Gibson & James Flynn kept the crowds entertained with their wonderful vocals and interplay between songs.

Performing on the studio’s beautiful Fazioli grand piano, Mondia shared the stage with experienced & versatile drummer Garry Howard and the very talented bassist Alistair Peel. This slick ensemble was well received by our audiences and we very much look forward to their continued musical contribution in the future.

Centrestage Recording Studios is supported by the State Government’s CBD Revitalisation Grant Program – Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and we thank them for assisting us to develop and make these events a reality.

✨Décor Design Centre & Boyac Presentation✨

An enjoyable morning with a lovely group of architects & designers. Thank you to the Décor Design Centre team Josh, Stacey, Bellinda for organising & hosting this event.

Creatives were invited to Centrestage Recording Studios for a presentation on acoustic design and specialised acoustic textiles.

The presentation included fabric samples & insightful information on acoustic textiles by Boyac director Eleonore de Vienne. Centrestage Recording Studios director Nunzio Mondia was invited to speak on studio design and acoustics. Guests were treated to a piano performance by Nunzio and we all much enjoyed the lovely sweets n’ treats kindly prepared by Josh & the team.

🎉 Congratulations to all involved with the recent Piano Artistry 2023 event🎉

A capacity crowd experienced an afternoon of high-level piano performance and enjoyed listening to music composed by some of the greatest classical names including Mozart, Chopin, Debussy, Scarlatti, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Liszt and others.

In the first part of this event, young pianists from Western Australia were invited to participate in audition & masterclass sessions held at Centrestage Recording Studios.

The fantastic response from local music community resulted in three audition & masterclass evenings. Auditioning pianists had an opportunity to perform on the studio’s Fazioli grand piano and performers very much appreciated the guidance and feedback received from our experienced team, music educators Nunzio Mondia & Valerie Lang

We would like to congratulate the following successful pianists who were selected to perform at the Piano Artistry 2023 public concert event on Saturday 29th April: Tenney, Isabelle, Oliver, Ivan, Karina, Chantel, Jayden, Grace, Li-Jene, Sophia, Michael, Samuel, Jeffrey.

Thank you to the following teachers whose students participated in Piano Artistry 2023: Ivy Chan, June Clark, Sarah Cransfield, Inna Fursa, Paddy Ge, Graeme Gilling, Valerie Lang, Yoon Sen Lee, E-Mae Lim, Adam Pinto.

Participants were presented with a ‘Certificate of Participation’ and will receive a studio audio live recording of the performance as part of their ongoing performance evaluation & development.

✨ PIANO ARTISTRY 2023 ANNOUNCEMENT✨

Classical music lovers are in for a treat this coming Saturday afternoon 29th April.

Guest pianists and selected finalists from our recent audition sessions will present a wonderful performance program at the upcoming "The Piano Artistry 2023" event held at Centrestage Recording Studios.

We are delighted to announce that following guest pianists Tina Algeri, Nicole Li, Annabelle Bai, Erica Ho and Hannah Wang will perform at this special event.

The audition & masterclass sessions held at Centrestage Recording Studios were enjoyed by all and we thank Nunzio Mondia and Valerie Lang for their musical expertise, guidance and efforts organising and leading the sessions.

Congratulation to all the young musicians who participated in this event and we look forward to seeing you, family and friends at the concert this coming Saturday.
