1️⃣ Collabs. If your Reel features another Instagram user and the Reel also ADDS value to them, invite them as a collaborator!
That way, your content gets pushed to their audience too. Double the audience, double the reach = a win win win situation. (Where are my The Office tv show fans)
2️⃣ Build a community not just online. But IRL too!
It’s a fact that organic growth is getting harder and harder on Instagram compared to 5 years ago.
But if you’re building strong connections offline (events, networking, partnerships), you’ll naturally see more engagement online too. People love supporting people they actually know.
3️⃣ EGC (Employee-Generated Content) is the new UGC. If you have a team or work in a cosmetic clinic, you’re sitting on a goldmine of content.
Most people are probably offering the same service or product as you. But the only way you can stand out is the people. No one can replicate your team and their personalities.
So if you want to stand out, start showing more of your people. It builds trust and makes your brand so much more relatable.
4️⃣ Create shareable content. Shares = free reach. When someone shares your post on stories, their audience sees it too. And if someone from their audience shares it, you’ve just started a domino effect.

The only time I would suggest doing outbound engagement (or more engagement that you really need to) is when your insta account feels ‘dead’.
When that happens, you need to work harder to boost your engagement. And sometimes, putting in extra effort to interact with your accounts OUTSIDE your following (that is your target audience) can help spark activity and bring in more views and engagement back #Reciprocity
But if your account is healthy, your content is valuable and you have a strong niche, engaging 10-15 mins every time you post to connect with your community is good enough :)

Especially after the announcement over the weekend that Instagram lets you record up to 3 minute Reels, it’s clear that people want more depth and connection with your content.
