The script

People ask me is the script used when making the film or do you just go of the shotlist?

Answer
Some times on set things dont always go per the script, quick changes have to be made even on a short film unlike a feature or series where you might have a couple script writers on set, this is not always the case on lower budget film and this is where the director is given creative licence. What this means is the writer (owner of the script if script writer has not sold it to a production conpany) the writer agrees to allow the director to make changes to the script, so it fits with the scene. Sometimes,an actor can struggle with an action or dialogue to make the scene flow and seamless, this can require a small script change and that is done onset by the script coordinator as the scenes are played out.

In 2019 I had a dream, Well it was more of an idea. Hello I'm Steve Bowker Director and owner of Redlight Film WA. In 2019 I had an idea for a script a n d like most script ideas I had no name for the story just an idea. As my curser on my lap top blinked at me waiting for my first key stroke, I realised to tell this story I had to do some research. So I jumped on the next available bus and went to the city, where I spoke with a few homeless people and got thier story's. From this my story started to form. On the bus ride home my mind was doing double time as I went through the story in my head. When I got home and I sat there in front of my computer the cursor blinking at me for the first key stroke I wrote Rick Burgouse enters the kitchen..

Rick Burgouse, his beautiful wife Julie and teenage daughter Emily are living the dream, until their lives are turned upside down by a husband and wife double redundancy.…
