Igloo Records are proud to present for the first time since 2016 Perth legends Bucket, launching the 30th Anniversary reissue of their debut release ‘Flounder’. The EP will be released on December 27 with a show on January 4 at Lyrics Underground in Maylands.

For the first time since 1994 ‘Flounder’ will be available on CD and limited edition 10” Vinyl with original artwork upscaled to suit the new format.

Formed in 1993, Bucket hit the burgeoning indie scene of the time with aplomb. By their 25th show they had supported practically every national and international touring indie act culminating in an appearance at the legendary Big Day Out festival. As their 2016 reunion proved, good music is timeless and stands just as strong today as it did to thousands in the dying days of the last century.

Joining the band for this special show will be the raw rock and husky vocals of Sascha Ion & The Elements, indie-folk supergroup Good News Now We Can Eat All The Vampires, and opening the night will be exactly one half of Turnstyle doing something with a guitar and a Casio keyboard.

Turnstyle Corporation – Corporate Restructure

As our survivalist friend says in the video for Take My Hand, the opening track of Turnstyle Corporation “The non-survivalist is probably the most dangerous person in the country, and there’s a lot of them. But what’s he gonna do when he runs out of food?”.

Music is food. In 2001, the taste of what was then an album called Turnstyle Corporation was often bitter, often sweet, possibly a little unseasoned with an inkling that the kitchen would soon be closing. A shame really, considering what came before.

Turnstyle crawled out of their doomsday bunker in 2013 and gave us 3 remarkable albums in the 10 years that followed. Still, Corporation was resigned to only those CDs that were released into the world 23 years before.

Unspoiled by time, the band resurrected the remaining ingredients from 2001and added more seasoning, refining what was there and as one of the band members exclaimed, “it’s finally finished!”.

Colonel Troutman said it best: “There was a sculptor. He found this stone, a special stone. He dragged it home and he worked on it for months until he finally finished it. When he was ready, he showed it to his friends. They said he had created a great masterpiece, but the sculptor said he hadn't created anything. The statue was always there, he just chipped away the rough edges.”

Turnstyle proudly present Turnstyle Corporation – Corporate Restructure. An update/ remix/redux/re-recording of their 2001 album Turnstyle Corporation. Available on limited edition CD and streaming everywhere for the very first time from November 29, 2024 on Igloo Records.

Think of it as a new Turnstyle album. How lucky we are to have food of this kind…

We will be rounding off the year with IGLOO0056 and IGLOO0057. One being a vinyl re-release celebrating its 30th anniversary and the other being a restructure/remix/digital re-release of a maligned 2001 album.

Igloo's own* Andrew Mostyn Powell will be performing a solo show this Thursday at The Duke of George in support of Isabel Rumble (Tas). New tour company West Bound - Folk & Country doing great things!

DESPITE BEING off the live scene for such a long time now, I've been busy demoing songs and building a studio. Last year I finally released my debut "solo" single and video, Circle in the Lights
This year is going to be a massive one for me with another single and a solo album to hopefully be completed before the year is out
I'll also be making my first foray into composing film music after I was given the opportunity to do the score for the local feature film, Manny, by Vanja Fischer
However, before I even get to that I'm in the process of preparing for my first live performance in five years when I open for east coast singer songwriter, Isabel Rumble, on four July
In the meantime I'm incredibly grateful to my friend and engineer Gareth Parsons, Adem K at Igloo Records and Mike Tucak at Westbound for supporting me and making it all possible!
Hopefully I will see some of you folks in July
