Marketing during the COVID era was wild. I worked with some epic clients and brands who were operating amidst the pandemic, and I was burnt out. I worked a lot of 6am starts and til 12am nights for the company.
I took a mental day off after some hectic work days. A week later there was a staff meeting and in front of all my peers, I got called out for taking a day off as it was "not abiding by company policy" to take it off during the week of a campaign launch. After the meeting, I cried in the toilets thinking "I did something wrong"
But here's the thing I learned over years of feeling guilty: You're not wrong. You CAN take a day off for rest darling, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Don't let anyone guilt trip you for taking a mental health day. You shouldn't need to cry at work in order to take a day off.
It's okay to gently speak up if your company isn't respecting you OR your mental health. It matters that you take a day when you've been feeling overwhelmed.
Sending strength to you (if you need it!)π
Can you believe we started Yin & Yang Social ONE YEAR ago?!
Iβm gob-smacked that time has just flown by so quickly, and even more gob-smacked that Iβve barely posted on the account coz we've been such busy bees π

β Just us existing? β¨
There's no place like home, so look after the thoughts in your head π
Our formula for #worldmentalhealthday: do something for your mind, something for your body and something for your soul, every day.

β Stop sending graphic designers your jpeg logos! β
You know when you try and print something out and it comes out all pixelated and you don't know how to get it to come out clearer? No matter how much you try to blow it up or export it into a high res file, it comes out more pixelated than the Galaga arcade game from 1981 πΎ
This is why we create your logo in vector graphics!
PSA If you're supplying your graphic designer with your logos, please make sure you have your graphics in vector!

Don't punish yourself for not being productive π₯
Listen to yourself, your body, and how you speak to yourself daily. If you're finding that you're restless when you should be resting, that might be exactly what your body needs.
Give yourself the time to heal and take a breath because you can always start kicking goals again tomorrow.
[Thanks for the inspo @kerrylifecoach π]
What does the life of a #businessowner look like?
I welcomed the new-normal world COVID left us in. I love that remote working means I get to be in my pyjamas and ugg boots all day when it's cold, or in a cute outfit out at a cafΓ© when the sun's out.
Some of my ideas come to me when I work from bed.
But my best ideas are when I get to collaborate with other creative-genius minds: face-to-face, and in person.
I value the heck out of being #personable.

We know reels can be REELY awkward π¬
Some tips on how we show up:
1. Have a plan!
2. Pop your phone on a tripod and set it to selfie mode
3. Good lighting literally cures all.
4. Use "hands-free" on IG or let the first & last few secs on your camera record
5. Have fun with it!
6. Edit using Capcut or InShot
7. Add in your audio
8. Practice makes improvement!
Hope that helps!

Have you ever been left on hold for hours trying to connect with a human being on a Chat, only to realise it's a bot and you can't quite get the answers you're looking for? We've been there and it's a nightmare!
We live in a digital world, in a digital age and somewhere along the way, we've lost that personal touch, and that face-to-face value when creating connections.
Whilst bots and autoresponders are an efficient tool for businesses, sometimes it's not necessarily easy for the customer.
We're wholeheartedly here to build relationships and connect with you on a personal level - after all, we weren't put here π to talk to a brick wall.

Being a massive food-holic, cooking, inventing, and eating is one of the ways I get inspired when I need a top up of creative brain juices. The methods of cooking also helps me process everything that needs to be done in order to accomplish a delicious goal.
