A traditional Kopitiam (café) with a modern twist.
There are a few newly renovated traditional kopitiams in Kuala Lumpur, and this is one of them, located in the Kepong area. It houses around 16 small food stalls, each approximately 100 sqm or less, with rental costs of about RM1,000 per month.
This is a growing trend in Malaysia, where old spaces are revitalized to attract more customers.
I visited specifically for this bowl of ramen, prepared by a Japanese chef. It’s rare to find ramen in a Malaysian kopitiam, so despite the hassle of finding parking, I think it’s worth a try.
