What an amazing experience to premiere ‘My Black Dog’ to an our regional community in Merimbula yesterday!

Here’s a wonderful article from Bega District News, talking further on the film, its production and the touring legacy.

So grateful to have been part of this collaboration with FLING Physical Theatre, film director Beth Lane and the all-star cast and crew.

The conversation begins, we hope this helps young people across NSW and beyond talk about the difficult stuff that life throws our way.

The new film is a cinematic remake of Fling Physical Theatre's award-winning 2019 live performance

🎥✨ Excited to announce the premiere of 'My Black Dog' at The Picture Show Man Cinema in Merimbula on Monday February 3rd!

This film delves into the realities of growing up regionally, the challenges of mental health, and what it means to navigate the complexities of being a young person in today’s world.

As someone who has faced mental health struggles myself, being part of this project as Assistant Director and Cinematographer was incredibly meaningful. Collaborating with FLING Physical Theatre, I poured my heart into ensuring the visuals captured the raw emotions—both the light and the dark—of this powerful story.

Join us for the premiere and let this important story leave its mark on you. 💙

So happy to share this film from last year. North of Eden is one of my favorite places on the Sapphire Coast! It's nestled in the beautiful foothills of Biamanga National Park. If you visit for a gin tasting or attend Gin School, you’ll experience firsthand the epic view from this award-winning distillery.

I spent a couple of days with Gavin Hughes, the head distiller and co-owner of NOE. This film is a glimpse into Gav’s world, showcasing his passion and knowledge for this artisanal craft.

You can either watch via the Vimeo link below or head to my website https://www.andrewrobinson.film/noe Enjoy! x

Woo 2024 is off to a wonderful start! .caravan is back on home soil and we kicked off the year with a gig down at with Andy Irvine and Dallahan.

Hearing the history, stories and music of Andy Irvine was an absolute treat and wow wee Dallahan brought such epic folk energy!

I’m going to carry my FujiXT3 with me over the year, the focusing on stills as a way of freeing up my DOP brain whilst getting deeper into my craft and training my eye. These stills from Andy’s set are the start!

These stills were shot all manual on the Fuji XT3 with my vintage Carl Zeiss Jenna 50mm f2.8 lens. The stills were processed with the Fujifilm Acros simulation for that gorgeous black and white look.

These are some of my favourite moments from Milk and Honey and truely a special day out with and Nana Sue Coleman-Hasseldine.

Nana Sue took us out into the outback of South Australia to the painted lake. Hidden below the dry cracked earth of this lake are paints that are used for ceremonies and artwork.

There was such care and openness to share the deep history of this country. Seeing first hand this land was a privilege and being guided by a strong custodian of that country was a humbling experience that I’ll treasure for the rest of my life!

Something EPIC this way cometh!

Look out, on the 29th of September is releasing the title track to her upcoming album ‘Milk and Honey’!

This is truly a masterfully crafted piece of music.

On the same day the music video will be launched! It’s a dilapidated chic, western-vibe, cultural adventure.

This film features some of my all time favourite people - the wonderful women of the choir, captured by the one and only .caravan

You’ll have to watch the film to experience the journey!

Whooo Weee! Robyn Martin - 'Love is Gonna Change Me' the single release is here. A turbulent song that's also filled with great joy and love!

Had the absolute pleasure of working with Rob's on this music video, trusting in the process 100%; with extreme close ups and dunks in the local Candelo river, you're a Legend! x

Also special thanks to Sam Martin and Harriet, you're all so talented and I think there is a little actress in the making here. Dave Ross Mac and Nick Keeling, thank you for your cameos and musical magic!

Take in this wonderful music, a lot of love, time and craft has gone into the making of this. Make sure to look out for the Rob's album when it emerges into the world in the near future! x

These moments are from Merimbula Aquarium. I visited a while back and was surprised by the animals they had in their care. Here's a couple of my all time loves: The cuttlefish, octopus and seahorse.

I thought I would share these as I’ve started to snorkel with my partner Casey Magee to get over my fear of open water.

I have a lot of respect for the sea and the flora and fauna that exist beneath. It’s completely removed from most of our everyday world and my fear comes from thinking it’s turbulent and threatening. Although this can be true, and while still being cautious, I have been observing the local estuaries and have found stillness in my thoughts.

Over the holidays, try leaving the fishing rod at home and have a dunk or visit the local aquarium.

I love doing live production work with .caravan. My favourite part is the pursuit of the best angles for the live performances we capture.

Here’s some wonderful moments of at the most recent Youth Festival. Hunter has a captivating way of playing, with subtle flourishes and suspenseful timing. Had fun filming this fella!

A huge thankyou and congratulations to AndrewRobinson.film Director of Photography on BODY AND ENVIRONMENT. He has done incredible work bringing this project together! From the very first visits to see the FLING company in rehearsal in early 2021, Andrew has been tuned into deeply understanding this work and exploring so generously how to capture it- no small task with a huge set installation to contend with! It has been such a privilege to work with him in the creative process, and we are blown away by the outcome. Can’t wait to share it with the world!
