Today marks a bitter sweet day in the BCR fm studios as we bid fairwell to our Acting Programs Manager and News Anchor Andiswa Zulu .

Your time at BCR fm came with a lot of learning curves and opportunities. You have grown from being an intern when you entered the BCR fm doors years ago to now being part of management and adding value into shaping the station.

As the BCR fm family we are broken and torn to see you leave but we rejoice and are happy to see you progress and grow. May the journey ahead be fruitful in all aspects and always know you have a home at BCR fm.

The Mpumalanga Association for the Blind and Rehabilitation, along with Ekujabuleni Disability Center and the City of Mbombela Transversal Services, held a successful cainewalk awareness campaign in Barberton on Tuesday 29th October 2024.

This event celebrated people with disabilities, especially those who are virtually impaired and use white canes.
Some participants were blindfolded to understand the daily challenges faced by blind individuals. The campaign aims to help people feel and understand the challenges they are facing within communities.

Umjindi stakeholders organized planning sessions to ensure that all logistics are well taken care of and the event ended with a gathering at Ekujabuleni Disability Centre after a marathon walk.
We thank everyone who supported and participated in this important campaign since the month of october is an eye-care awareness month.

Together, we will keep promoting inclusivity for people with disabilities.

‼️URGENT CARNIVORE ALERT‼️

27th to 28th October 2024.

URGENT WARNING There has been a confirmed sightings of lions between Nelspruit and Barberton on the R40 at Entrance 54 on 27th October 2024 and in the Hermansburg area on 28th October 2024 early in the evening. Everyone should be extremely careful and vigilant as they could appear anywhere!!

The immediate alert is for the Glenwood area (Entrance 12), Hermansburg area (Entrance 20), and the Hilltop area (Entrance 28).
A follow-up alert will be supplied if they are sighted again and moved out of this area!

PLEASE do not allow children to roam around or play unsupervised - period! Lions could be extremely dangerous, especially where kids are concerned!😳

EVERYBODY needs to be extremely cautious and an urgent alert for joggers, hikers, and cyclists in the morning and afternoon and also workers traveling on foot! Be extra careful at night as lions are a bigger threat in the dark! If you are having a braai, sit with your backs to a wall and keep the lights on!

Unfortunately, the warnings are not taken seriously! The onus is on each and everyone to adhere to the alerts and warn others of the dangers.
