63-year-old Rose had left her house with almost nothing, barring her late husband Raymond's old red car. I CAME HOME WITH MY NEWBORN TWINS TO FIND THE LOCKS CHANGED AND A NOTE.

I had just been discharged from the hospital after giving birth to my twin girls, Ella and Sophie. My husband, Derek, was supposed to pick us up, But at the last minute, he called.

"Mom's really unwell. I need to take her to the hospital. I can't pick you up,” he said, sounding rushed.

Disappointed but trying to stay calm, I called a taxi.

When I got home, I froze. My suitcases and bags were dumped on the doorstep. I approached the door, calling, "Derek?" but there was no answer.

MY STEPMOM TURNED OFF MY ALARMS SO I'D MISS MY MEDICAL COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAM.

Ever since my mom died from cancer, I've wanted to be an oncologist. I studied for months for my medical college entrance exam. The night before, I set multiple alarms — there was no way I was going to oversleep.

But the next morning, I woke up in a dark room. My phone showed 9:55 a.m. — the exam started at 10. All my alarms were turned OFF. I raced downstairs in a panic, begging my stepmom to drive me to the exam center.

She just sipped her coffee, smirking. "You can't even set an alarm. How do you expect to be a doctor?"

I was in shock. "I did set them! I don't know how they were turned off!"

Just as I was about to leave on foot, my 8-year-old brother Jason shouted, "I KNOW WHO DID IT!"

I SAW AN ABANDONED DOG THAT CAME TO THE SAME CLOSED STORE EVERY DAY - IT BROKE MY HEART WHEN I FOLLOWED HIM

I work at a warehouse. I've seen plenty of stray animals, but Koda was... different. Every single day, at the same time, he'd come by and just stare at the bike shop window with the saddest eyes ever. He had a leash, looked clean—clearly, he used to have an owner. How could someone abandon this amazing dog? What kind of heartless person does that?!
It broke my heart. I'd give him food, but he never ate it. He'd just take it in his mouth and run off. I couldn't take it, so I brought him home. My girlfriend, Tasha, was NOT happy about it. She doesn't like dogs and kept saying stuff like, "Get THAT THING out of here!" But I convinced her to let him stay. Even with a warm home and food, Koda kept doing the same thing every day—running back to that bike shop window, staring at it like his heart was wrecked. And the food? Still didn't eat it. Just took it and ran.

Yesterday, I couldn't hold back anymore. So, I followed him. He led me to this old, abandoned house. We got there, and Koda started digging like crazy. I DON'T UNDERSTAND PARENTS WHO LET THEIR KIDS ""EXPRESS THEMSELVES"" HOWEVER THEY WANT. I'm honestly shocked by what my daughter allowed my granddaughter to do to herself. Bright yellow hair, piercings all over, and even tattoos! It looks awful. I can't even bring her to church with me anymore — what would people think? I don't understand this new generation of parenting where kids can just do whatever they want to ""express themselves."" Is it just me, or are we losing a sense of decency here?

My stepfather adopted me and took care of me after my mother died when I was 10. After 8 uneasy years together, I was finally ready to pay him back.

As I was packing my bags to leave for college, my stepfather came into the room with tears in his eyes. "HERE'S A LETTER YOUR MOTHER ASKED ME TO GIVE YOU ON YOUR 18TH BIRTHDAY," he said, his voice trembling.

Four years have passed since my husband disappeared without a trace. He set out on a solo hike in the mountains, and no one has seen him since. Those years were incredibly hard for me and our two kids. Over time, we adjusted to life without him, even though we still think about him a lot.

Then, one day out of nowhere, something crazy happened. I was lying on a blanket in our backyard when my husband's dog (whom I haven't seen for four years because he disappeared with my husband) ran into our yard — with my husband's jacket in its mouth. The very same jacket he'd worn on that hike!

I tried to get closer to the dog, but it took off running. I followed, running for about 20 minutes until we ended up in the woods not far from our neighborhood.

I kept chasing the dog until I couldn't run anymore and suddenly came across an old cabin hidden in the forest. I slowly walked up to it and finally worked up the nerve to open the door. ⬇️

Then I had to endure a barrage of insults directed at me, from comments about my body to judgments about my face. I don't even want to list the "COMPLIMENTS" that were thrown my way.

Honestly, her words hit hard. As a kid, I was in a car accident that left scars on my face — something I've carried my whole life. I'm sure she didn't know that, but she also didn't know that a gray-haired man in a black suit was standing right behind her and it was HER FATHER

WHILE DECORATING A GINGERBREAD HOUSE, MY DAUGHTER SAID, "IT’S BEAUTIFUL, LIKE THE SECRET HOUSE DADDY TAKES ME TO EVERY WEEKEND"
I'm a surgeon with crazy hours, and while I love my job, it often feels like I'm failing my family. My husband, Mark, works from home and takes care of our six-year-old, Emma.
A few nights ago, I finally cleared my schedule to spend the evening with Emma. We decided to decorate a gingerbread house, and she was so excited, chatting as we glued gumdrops and frosted shingles. For once, I felt like the mom she deserved.
