An IPO or Initial Public Offering is one of the key exit strategies (& often most lucrative) for many angel investors, venture capitalists and other private investors.

This is quite a relevant concept to know with the recent stock spits being the talk of the town with Tesla, Alphabet, and Amazon.

Research indicates that the S&P500 companies that have announced stock splits since 1980 have returned on average 15% over the LTM (last twelve months) vs the S&P500 average 9% return over the LTM period.
