A sustainable future is my driving passion.

Community-owned renewable energy is quietly enabling people to become energy independent in cost-neutral and profitable ways. I aim to remove regulatory barriers to enable these schemes to grow and support larger scale renewables for industry and export.

A new wave of cheaper electric vehicles will reduce our carbon emissions and remove the incentives for petroleum exploration, coal seam fracking and gasification projects.

The government has discouraged electric vehicles due to the massive fuel excise it receives. To be financially responsible, our nation needs to tax the one-in-three big businesses that avoid it. Doing so will support the innovation we need and restore essential funding to education, hospitals and the ABC.

In addition, we need to restore penalty rates, increase the minimum wage and increase all income support payments eliminating poverty and enabling all people to be effective members of our society. I will work to stop energy price-gouging which is hurting consumers to the benefit fossil fuel companies.

My other great passion is for ecological solutions to our land and water management problems.

Sustainable farm management practices can build soil and sequester carbon. Restoring ecosystems protects our wildlife, sequesters carbon, cleans our air and reduces flooding while also improving soil hydrology and river flows.

For too long, big business and political donors have dictated government policy to the detriment of ordinary Australians especially our most vulnerable. I will work to ban corporate donations, to publicly fund election campaigns and to establish a Federal anti-corruption commission.
