I was talking to a friend ages ago about why I like fishing and why I am so happy when I am out getting the line wet. I know fishing isn’t for everyone and for many of us it’s something we grow into and out of depending on the weather. But there is something about fishing that quiets my mind. Like everyone I have a million stresses running through my head at all hours if the day and night. But put that fishing rod in my hand and it all goes away. My mind goes quiet and then i am really happy. I don’t catch much and I keep less. But it’s bloody good when I do. Thanks to Chris for taking this photo. A rare moment of true happiness. This will be my first Anzac Day in 20 years not being in the ADF. A long career of ups and downs. I met some amazing people who I will remain friends with for life. A career of many deployments, many months away from home, family, friends and loved ones. I got to come home. Many didn’t. Lest we forget.

Last month whilst we were down filming for the and we decided to go on the hunt for the largest Karri tree in WA. It took us a while and a bit of off the trail hiking to find this absolute beast. This is the Tyrant, a 500 year old behemoth with a trunk diameter of over 11 meters and a total timber volume of more than 224 cubic meters. Photos honestly don’t do it justice of just how massive this beautiful old growth tree is!

I’ve been trailing the new solar blankets. Great piece of kit! Super heavy duty coating on the cells and the actual cover is super durable as well. The 160w serves me perfectly with my NOMAD PDU lithium power unit.
