Perth sound recordist and drone operator Brett Stayt, repped by RMK Crew, recently pulled off something pretty special — a stunning one-shot drone flight through the Perth Ballet Centre, capturing the beauty of the space and the people who bring it to life.
The idea was simple: show the centre in motion — real dancers, real staff, doing what they do best. The ex*****on? A seamless, single-take drone flight, weaving through corridors and studios, perfectly timed with each performer’s movement. It’s one of those rare moments where tech and artistry meet — and magic happens.
The entire building was locked down, and every person you see on screen had a role to play. With cues called remotely, the dancers and team nailed it on take after take. The result is a captivating glimpse into their world — all captured in one fluid motion.
Brett’s recently added approval for close-proximity drone flights, making this kind of work not just possible, but legal and safe. But beyond the paperwork, it’s the people, the energy, and the collaboration that made this project so memorable.
