Mistral II is 100 year old vessel - a veteran of the first Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. She is now being restored by a team of volunteer unemployed Tasmanians and dedicated shipwrights.
Mistral II needs your support to help us to continue to train further generations of young Australians.

Filming in Sydney this week on the trail of the story of Mistral II and found a couple of her old contemporaries. The once stunning Morna from 1913 which won the first few Syd to Hobart races in the 40s is now in a shed waiting to be saved. The reborn schooner Athene from 1905 has been lovingly restored and sports a mysterious black hull.

Glorious weather for filmingMistral II on the Hobart Waterfront.
