Here is a legendary man who brought so much to our community with his enthusiasm and passion for the arts of silent films and theatrical entertainment.

Majestic Theatre Pomona will have a special screening this Saturday 6th July followed by a silent film with Ron West accompanying on the Compton Organ.
A 10 minute documentary "Last Man Standing" about Ron West - organist at the majestic for over 40 years and former owner of the theatre, the world’s oldest authentic silent movie house. At 91 years old, Ron looks back on his life, reflects on past love, and speaks of the secret he carried for decades. This is the first documentary directed by Sunshine Coast locals, Jordan Lawrence and Jayke Barnes, released through their production company, The Midnight Cafeteria..
This will be followed by a short silent film performance by Ron West accompanying the film “Big Business” by Laurel & Hardy.
Doors & bar open at 11am. Coffee Tea & refreshments available. No need to book. Get your tickets at the door. $15 for adults and free for kids 13 and under.

NOOSA Noosa Council Would you like to say your “Good-buy 2023” and “Welcome 2024” watching the New Years Eve Noosa Spectacular, then go along to the Tewantin Marina for the Noosa Fireworks on 31st December 2022 at 7 PM – midnight The Noosa New Years Eve Spectacular is a free event. There will be live music from 8pm, Fireworks from 10pm. The Noosa Council invites you to go along and put your dancing shoes on. SUNSHINE COAST You may like to dust off your dancing shoes and join the New Year’s Eve celebrations with fireworks displays. Here are some fantastic Sunshine Coast's New Year’s Eve events HAPPENING FOR YOU presented on the Sunshine Coast. CALOUNDRA Fireworks Kings Beach Amphitheatre The Caloundra NYE Celebrations are back for 2023, kicking off at 4pm with live music in the Kings Beach Amphitheatre. There will be plenty to keep the whole family entertained including carnival rides, face painting and a very special movie screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Pack a picnic or enjoy delicious street food and at 9:30pm a spectacular fireworks display over Kings Beach will provide the finale to the NYE festivities in Caloundra. MOOLOOLABA Fireworks One of the Sunshine Coast's most popular fireworks locations, there will be live music, kids entertainment, face painters, food and market stalls from 5pm on the Mooloolaba Esplanade. There will be live DJs on the beach stage from 7pm and fireworks displays at 8:30pm and midnight. COOLUM BEACH There will be a vibrant fireworks display on Coolum Beach near Tickle Park at 8:30pm.
