After two small deliberately-lit fires have been extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW crews in as many days, inconsiderate people are now using Maitland City Council’s popular sporting facility, McKeachies Sportsground, as a waste dump.

A black Subaru has been bogged on Horseshoe Beach, with tides rising rapidly. The owners are attempting to remove it from the bank but to no avail. How the incident occurred is still unknown but it could relieve the parking woes in the city.
