Added a bunch of 360 images of the Yuelarbah Walking Trail to Google Maps. Yuelarbah walking track is a great day walk within Glenrock State Conservation Area, near Newcastle. It features a lookout with scenic views, waterfalls and places to picnic, perfect on a warm summer's day ;-) More images in the link below

A big shout out to David Rastas, Curator and Operations at LakeMac Multi-Arts Pavillion (MAP mima) at Speers Point, to make one of my works available in their magnificent 360 projection space, showcasing the newly renovated Newcastle Ocean Baths just a couple of days prior to the opening. Even though only a portion of the 14K 96MP aerial image can be displayed I was pretty impressed with the immersive feel of the presentation.
Reason for my visit was to provide further test material, this time high resolution 360 videos, in order to establish workflows and capabilities for future projects.

3D reconstruction based on approx. ~250 land based 360 images, cubemapped to generate dataset that can be trained as Gaussian Splatter. This is more a proof-of-concept, I was aware that the changing LED screens would not work to create a functional output ;-)

Here is an exciting preview into what's coming in 2025: AVsupport has been developing with Gaussian Splatting for quite some time, and soon it will be possible to integrate those stunning 3D model digital twins into 360 virtual tours driving an even better immersive experience with our platform of choice. The other day, road testing a new Run'n'Gun Interview rig, showcasing the latest iFootage Cobra Strike 3 Monopod off Kickstarter, with an RS3 Gimbal to 'keep you straight' carrying A7S3 payload with Deity dual receiver for a wireless P48 boom and lapel. Supported with a Portkeys LHP5 touch monitor providing camera control and touch focus. The idea being having quicker setup but better stability when moving around quickly, plus an opportunity to get more different creative shots ;-)

The association strives to develop and support the professional and artistic uses of 360° panoramas, image based VR and related technologies worldwide through education, networking opportunities, manufacturer alliances, marketing assistance, and technical support and also promotes the success of Professioal VR Photographers and Videographers worldwide.
On top of that, members gain valuable insights from member’s only webinars, discussions, and other content, and get access to manufacturer’s feedback loop to help shape the future of VR.
This is exciting and I can’t wait to digest the amount of information available at this level, as this should improve international collaboration, knowledge, process and output.

Here is what 22 hrs rendering 100% CUDA on a nVidia GTX3070/12GB gets you: a little impressionistic backyard Gaussian Splat, composed from 20x 360 HDR stills. Let's see what the next 24 hrs will do to improve the model, or perhaps not. This is also why dedicated cloud GPU computing is definitely the way to go in this instance, if you don't want to brick your .

New is now that this can now run on a dedicated server (in this case, mine) as opposed to be on someone else's (subscription) cloud service . 'Soon' this will contain interactive tags that can be clicked etc for a full immersive 3D experience. This is currently in Beta, work in progress.

Bulk Gravy and chicko salt must be the sought after ingredient for this year’s Bathurst1000 outside broadcast. Showing this one since I cannot share images from the track for obvious reasons 😅😆
