APA Open Nationals 2024

This was the craziest event I have ever witnessed, let alone taken photos at, and as the main photographer!?! 🤯 have set the standard for National level powerlifting events in every aspect. The lighting, the livestream, the coordinators and the volunteers have taken efforts to new levels and pulled it all together without a hitch. The spotters and loaders all weekend long were akin to an F1 Pit crew. The athletes themselves were world class, with some of them literally bettering world records.

As for myself, I am so grateful I had this opportunity to provide images for this event, a huge milestone for me, considering I only start photographing people less than a year ago. I had to adapt and learn very quickly to the conditions that I’ve never combatted before but I am confident that this album is the best album I’ll ever produce.

Where it all started…

I’ve got a bad case of the man-flu today (real thing), so I have decided to take it back to where it started.

When Gran Turismo 5 came out, this was my first interaction with a camera and “manual settings”. I spent well over 2,000 hours on that game, most of which were in photography mode, trying to capture all the cars I’d never afford, doing FuLly SiCk drifts through the last corner of Tsukuba Circuit. From that point I was obsessed with the link between the automotive scene and photography.

These are pictures taken today, in Gran Turismo 7, in real world locations.

I have been challenged to post a photo a day for 30 days.

My goal will be to show a little bit more of my ‘Unbound’ nature and show why I chose that name. Although I tend to only post gym or automotive, I have a million hobbies which I will strive to show off in the next 30 days. Some will be good, some will not. I will post SOMETHING.
