You may notice that for my small business clients, I don't stick to a particular editing style in all of my images.

Scroll through my feed and you'll notice a range of different images with different brightness, contrast, vibrancy and more.

While there are some consistencies, I believe in creating the perfect image that is best for my client and that best represents their business, rather than all of my images being exactly the same across any brand or industry. It's really about the CLIENT and not about me or "my" style.

And that's because every client is different.

The bright bright whites, highly saturated and vibrant colours and sharp as a tack images that make the food over POP 💥 would not suit the lovely, soft, warm, natural tones that look amazing on Gemma and her shop 💓

Gemmas maternity retail brand is all about nurturing mums and making them feel beautiful, so I want to this come across in her images, which I have achieved by using a soft, emotive editing style.

This is just my personal approach to photography when it comes to supporting my small business clients.

Little (as in small - as in small business) Mary (my middle name) Media (photography, social media).

I don't know about you but when I name things (you know, like children or businesses 😝), I like to align them with a purpose or they have to have some type of meaning or intention behind them.

I wanted my social media business name to highlight my passion for helping for small businesses (Little), have a personal touch (Mary) and a practical touch (Media).

Where as my family/lifestyle photography business Laura Mary Media is more about the person (Laura Mary 🙋🏼‍♀️🙊) behind the camera (Media) and the connections I build with my clients while we're having fun making memories.

There are many elements in photography that come together for an image be considered “good”.⁠

Elements like lighting, the rule of thirds, lines, shapes, texture, patterns and colour all work together to add interest and a great deal of composition in photographs.⁠

The more elements you can get right in one image, the more pleasing the image is to look at.⁠
