Before @taylorswift landed down under, all everyone could talk about was the “cost of living crisis”.... And now she’s here, all we can talk about is her (coz she’s awesome! SO devo I missed out on tix 😫)...
And it got me thinking... it’s easy to blame the economy for a lack of customers/sales/revenue, but when you really think about it, people are still spending money 👉 ON WHAT THEY VALUE!!! (like Taylor 🤩).
And if the money people are spending on seeing Taylor isn’t convincing enough, here is some more to mull over.
In 2023 the rate of travel departures from Australia was 1,479,380 – an annual increase of 464,550 🌏 ✈️. Which almost brings us back to pre-pandemic numbers.
I even asked my travel agent and he said this 👉 “Travel hasn’t slowed down. I’ve sold so many Premium and Business class flights these last 2 years”.
I get it; it’s a crazy time, and the media is full of doom and gloom. And there ARE a LOT of people doing it tough right now who aren’t spending money. But here’s the deal: they are not the people you want to attract 🧲
Think about it – while some folks are tightening their belts, others are still jetting off or treating themselves to a spa day. I literally NEVER walk past an empty shopping center nail salon 💅 (like, ever!).
It’s easy to blame the economy because then we don’t have to take responsibility for our business’s performance (it’s me, hi, I’m the problem it’s me 🤭)... but if we want to succeed, taking BOLD accountability is a MUST.
We owe it to ourselves to be brave enough to ask ourselves, does my business provide real VALUE to my ideal customers?
