What Does a Social Media Manager Actually Do?

Achieving an authentic, conversion-focused following requires more than just posting content—it demands meticulous social media management powered by a strategic, organic audience-building approach. Here’s how we make it happen:

🌟 Scroll-Stopping Content Creation: We craft captivating content using your imagery, videos, and even stock visuals. Each piece is designed to halt the scroll and draw your audience in.

🖋️ Authentic Copywriting: Your brand’s unique tone of voice shines through in every caption, ensuring your messaging is both authentic and consistent.

📱 Multi-Platform Presence: We manage your presence across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and TikTok, ensuring regular, engaging posts—including expertly edited Reels—across all platforms.

🤝 Content Support and Collaboration: Our collaborative approach provides ongoing support, instructions, and prompts to help you create content. You capture the raw footage, and we handle the editing and posting.

💬 Community Management: We actively engage with your audience and niche leaders, ensuring your content isn’t just seen, but interacted with—through comments, likes, follows, and meaningful engagement.

📊 Performance Analytics: Need to know how your content is performing? We offer monthly digital reports focused on key metrics that measure the impact of your organic content strategy.

🗓️ Strategic Quarterly Meetings: Collaboration is key. We conduct quarterly meetings to brainstorm social campaign ideas, review performance, and develop actionable plans to drive your brand’s social success.

Noticed the algorithm is pretty crappy these days? Yeah, we all have. So what can you do to boost your organic reach when the socials aren't socialing?

Right now, building strong connections is more important than ever. It's not just about what you know, but who you know. So how do you go about creating a community of like minded people?

🔹 Collaboration Over Competition: When we connect with others, we open the door to collaboration, learning, and growth. By working together, we can achieve more than we ever could alone.

🔹 Networking: A local or online network can provide support, advice, and opportunities. Whether it's attending industry events, joining professional groups, or simply reaching out to others in your field, networking can lead to incredible opportunities.

🔹 Mutual Support: Building genuine relationships in business means having a network of people who support each other's goals. It's about creating a community where success is shared and celebrated.

🔹 Continuous Learning: Through connections, we can gain new perspectives, insights, and knowledge. Learning from others’ experiences can be invaluable for personal and professional growth.

🔹 Trust and Credibility: Strong business connections help build trust and credibility. When others know and trust you, they are more likely to refer you, partner with you, or hire you.

So this week, think about reaching out, networking, and build some industry relationships!!!!

The first week back working after a holiday can be - for some reason (maybe because I have the best clients) this time was different. I gave myself a slow start on Monday: checked all my emails, got started on my priority list and organised my week. This felt AMAZING!!! Usually I'd be straight back into battle mode / fight or flight (usually somewhere in between), but just knowing I have clients who support my decision to take breaks, encourage me to have a great time away and respect my time off (no emails with requests etc) - literally makes the BIGGEST difference!

When you first take on a new client, I don't know about you but I feel anxious for a while - hoping the client loves what I do for them, hoping they gel with me and also hoping they don't take advantage of my inability to say no 😅 I also HATE sending the first few invoices - Will they think it's too much (even though we discussed pricing prior to starting our working relationship!)? Will they pay their invoice? Will I have to chase them and awkwardly resend the invoice through? I can be an ANXIOUS girlie - but I fight against this on the reg, there is no point getting caught up in anxiety but sometimes we do, right?

When you have so many responsibilities, handling this and that (major $$ making activities) for clients, there is always that little fear that you've missed something! But! When you have clients who understand you're only human, life gets a little easier.

Anyway, thank you for listening to my dribble, oh and - Thank F*** It's Friday!!!

Life Lately: Hustle, Snow, and Big Dreams

Life's been a whirlwind lately! 🌪️ Between launching new products for my amazing clients, collaborating on epic projects, and diving into the world of influencer marketing, it's been non-stop hustle mode! From exhibitions to retail launches, I'm loving every minute of supporting these incredible businesses.

But let's be real, work isn't everything (although it's pretty darn close). I've been hitting the slopes at Perisher and Charlottes Pass, chasing that perfect powder (Yes - Australia has powder too haha). There's something so breathtaking about being on a ski lift and shredding down a mountain (big hill...), the world melting away for a few precious moments before hitting the pub haha.

Now that I'm back in reality, I can't help but feel a little down about leaving the snowy mountains behind. But hey, that's just motivation to plan the next adventure!

Turning 31 has me reflecting on where I thought I'd be at this stage. While it's not exactly the life I envisioned (I'm not an influencer with a cool million in the bank), I'm learning to appreciate the journey and celebrate the wins along the way.

Grateful for my amazing husband, Winston and Captain (my furry co-pilots), and my incredible VA, Camille, who keeps this ship sailing smoothly.

I know it's a Tuesday, but maybe today is the day you take some time and reflect on hat you have an where you're going!

In the fast-paced world of social media, staying consistent with your posts is crucial.

Regularly sharing your products and services keeps your brand top of mind for your audience. It builds trust, showcases your reliability, and keeps your followers engaged and excited about what you offer.

Consistency also helps you stay relevant in a crowded market. By maintaining a steady presence, you ensure that your brand stands out and remains a go-to choice for your customers.

So, keep those posts coming! Your dedication and consistency will pay off in building a strong, loyal community around your brand.

Mondays? Uhhh in my opinion they aren't the worst... Tuesdays are.

But today is particularly hard as I'm back in the office and not at the snow!

For me - the snow has always been my happy place! Skiing and snowboarding was always something I thrived at. That feeling of almost free falling down the slope has always left me wanting more. And allergies? GONE! I think everyone who knows me has heard me talk about moving down to the snow, for at least four months of the year - maybe one day I will!

Five things I do that you can do too!

Content Planning and Scheduling:
• Plan with a content calendar - Strategically map posts, stories, and reels. Consider themes, special events, and relevant hashtags.
• Schedule in advance - Use tools like Later, Buffer, or Hootsuite to schedule posts (I use Socialmonials). Consistency matters!

Engagement and Community Building:
• Respond to comments and messages - Engage with your audience promptly. Show appreciation and address queries.
• Interact with followers - Like, comment, and share user-generated content. Build a sense of community around your brand.

Hashtag Research and Usage:
• Research relevant hashtags - Find popular and niche hashtags related to your content. Use a mix of both.
• Include hashtags in captions and comments - Boost discoverability by adding relevant hashtags to your posts.

Analytics and Insights:
• Track performance metrics - Regularly review Instagram Insights. Understand what’s working (and what’s not).
• Analyse engagement, reach, and follower growth - Adjust your strategy based on data.

Stay Updated on Trends and Features:
• Explore new features - Instagram constantly evolves. Be aware of features like Reels, Guides, and Shopping tags.
• Monitor industry trends - Stay informed about algorithm changes, content formats, and user behaviour.

It's such a strange thing to me, to be in competition with someone but not friends with them? I don't know if you remember, back in school your competition in sports, grades and the social ladder, was usually one of your best mates! Why is it not the same when we become adults? I LOVE to follow and support other businesses who do what I do, give the love in the comments, refer them to other business owners when I'm at capacity and be inspired by what they are achieving - why?

One - there is enough opportunity to go around
Two - I don't need to be a b*tch and try to one up my competition to be successful
Three - It's way better to do life AND business with others, than to be going it alone!

I also choose to simply focus on my own business! What am I doing to up-skill? is there anything I can improve on? are my clients happy?

Need ideas for your content pillars?

At House of Fields Design, we know the power of a well-balanced content mix. Here are the six pillars we swear by:

1. Knowledge - Share valuable info that educates your audience. Think "how-to" guides, industry insights, or quick tips. Become their go-to source for info!

2. Laughter is the Best Algorithm! Let's be honest, funny memes and relatable stories are pure gold. Keep it light, engaging, and share-worthy – your followers will thank you!

3. Inspiration Station! Motivate your audience with uplifting quotes, success stories, or even a peek into your personal journey. Be their cheerleader and watch them soar!

4. Toot Your Own Horn (But Not Too Loud) Yes, self-promotion has a place! Showcase your amazing products, services, or upcoming events. Just remember the 80/20 rule: 80% value-driven content, 20% promotion.

5. Get Interactive! Polls, quizzes, challenges, live Q&A sessions – these are engagement gold! Interaction fuels the algorithm and builds a vibrant community around your brand.

6. Behind the Scenes: Ever wonder what goes on behind the curtain? Pull it back! Show your workspace, introduce your team, and give a glimpse into your creative process. Authenticity is key, and blooper reels are always a bonus!

And remember, social media isn't worth stressing over, just start by being consistent and bring in your content pillars - you'll be fine! xx

Cracking the Code: How Keywords Unlock Social Media Success

Feeling lost in the social media jungle? Don't worry, we've got your back!

Ever heard of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)? It's not just for websites anymore. Using the right keywords in your captions can be a game-changer for your social media presence. Here's the lowdown:

Think of keywords like signposts. 🪧 They help people who are searching for things you offer find your content. The more relevant keywords you use, the more likely it is your posts will show up in feeds!

Firstly...

- Identify your niche: What are you passionate about? What problems do you solve for your audience? These are your golden keywords!

- Do your research: Use free tools like Google Trends to see what people are searching for related to your niche.
Weave them in naturally: Don't stuff your captions with keywords! Focus on creating engaging content and sprinkle relevant keywords throughout.

- Hashtags are your allies: Research popular hashtags in your niche and use them strategically to reach a wider audience.
Bonus Tip: Don't forget about location-based keywords! If you're a local business, adding your city or region can attract customers in your area.

Using keywords helps you connect with the right people and build a thriving online community.

Tips for Growing Your Business with Social Media

If you want to see your business grow through social media, there are a few key things to keep in mind: consistent effort, authenticity, and a bit of creativity. Being unique is crucial—it's what will help you stand out from your competitors and catch the eye of your target audience.

1) Think of hashtags like seasoning. Sprinkle them thoughtfully. Mix popular ones with specific ones relevant to your content.

2) Share glimpses of your workday, team, and process. People love authenticity! It’s like inviting them into your kitchen while you cook. 🍳

3) Post regularly. Your phone is your trusty timer. Consistency keeps your audience hungry for more.

4) When followers comment, reply - DONT ghost them! It’s like chatting with customers at your store. Be friendly, not mysterious.

5) Partner with fellow businesses. Share each other’s specials, events, or stories. If your mindset is that everyone is competition, you’re not running your own race.

6) Explore your feed. Like, comment, and follow relevant accounts. It’s networking without the awkward handshakes.

At House of Fields Design - we keep it straightforward. No wands or potions—just practical advice for your business growth
on social media. 🌟

Life rarely goes to plan, right? After the world hit pause with Covid, mine took a sharp turn. Suddenly, I found myself navigating a job market that seemed more uncertain than ever. I bounced between roles, from Federal Government to the corporate world, even a stint serving up lattes (while building the agency).

Each experience was valuable, but a common thread started to unravel: a yearning for something more. More freedom, more purpose, more...well, me. Being stuck in a toxic environment, working long hours for faceless corporations, just wasn't cutting it anymore.

Deep down, I craved the freedom to build something on my own terms. A vision emerged: a home office filled with sunshine and furry supervisors (who, let's face it, basically run the show!), flexible hours, and the chance to work with passionate entrepreneurs who shared my fire. But most importantly, I wanted to use my skills to truly empower others.

That's when House of Fields Design sprouted! Those early days were a whirlwind of hustle and heart. Long nights turned into exciting possibilities, and the freedom to work from home with Winston was an absolute dream.

House of Fields Design is more than just a marketing agency, it's a mission. We're a passionate team dedicated to helping small businesses like yours take flight. We believe in the power of organic marketing to connect with real people, build authentic brands, and achieve results that resonate. We don't just work for you, we work with you, celebrating your wins and cheering you on every step of the way.

This is just the first chapter of our story. We can't wait to see what the future holds, filled with pushing boundaries, helping businesses shine, and maybe even sneaking in a few snow trips... Hehe

If you haven't already - this is a MUST for the New Financial Year!

The cornerstone of your LinkedIn strategy? Well-defined goals! Your approach varies depending on your objectives—be it brand awareness, B2B sales, or recruitment. Once your goals are crystal clear, chart the path to reach them. If it's brand awareness, track post reach, page followers, and engagement rate. For recruitment, focus on message open rates.

LinkedIn is incredibly versatile, but defining your goals is key to using it effectively for your business's unique needs.

Reviving inactive subscribers is like rekindling old friendships. Sometimes, subscribers who were once engaged with your emails gradually stop opening them. Instead of letting them fade away, you can use targeted email campaigns to win them back.

Start by identifying inactive subscribers based on factors like open rates or engagement history. Craft a compelling re-engagement email that reminds them why they subscribed in the first place and offers them something of value, like a special discount or exclusive content.

If some subscribers still don't engage after a few re-engagement attempts, it's a good idea to remove them from your list. This not only helps maintain a clean and engaged list but also improves your email deliverability.

Re-engaging inactive subscribers is cost-effective and can boost your overall engagement rates. It's like finding treasure in your own backyard - you already have their contact, and a little effort can turn them into active and loyal customers again.
