Had a double take after looking at this photo of Skoota and Roxy.

Looks like Skoota has eaten a small dog.... but it is just an optical illusion with his own tail. Jet is lucky Skoota is a pushover 🤣🤣

We have been having a few of those months where nothing seems to go to plan. Life just has other ideas with family or animal emergencies and then there has been the wet weather and mud, endless mud.

Being unable to do much with all the mud, we have been watching season 3 of Clarkson's farm and we just have to laugh because some if it is so like us lot trying to get things done in the paddock.

Luckily everything seems to workout OK in the end and we all need to laugh at ourselves sometimes 🤪

Life seems to fly by right before our eyes while we are busy doing other things.

I attended a funeral yesterday for a friend's elderly father and during the memories slide show it included some of his words of wisdom from his final days.

His most important thing was "Family first, above all else". He had a large family and it was beautiful to see them all supporting each other and celebrating the memories of a life well lived with his friends.

So this weekend I am going to forget the housework and spend some quality time with my family. Hug them a little longer and just enjoy whatever we get up to. I hope you take some time out to do the same 💜

Loving my new feed cart. I can even fit all 12 feeds on when I stack the buckets. Makes feed time a bit quicker especially when I am on my own.

Has an exciting Mother's day. Out with Mum and the boys ten pin bowling. Duckie has a podium finish coming third.... (don't know where that competitive streak comes from 😁)

Then come home to feed the crew and missing a horse.... that heart stopping moment when you have been calling out and everyone else is up 😱
Jordan went walking for 1km out the back and found Patch next door across the drain in the bushy part. He was so happy to see Jordan and the lead rope to guide him home. Lucky no injuries. 🥳

Hubby has finally been released from hospital for good behaviour this morning. He was chomping at the bit to get to Brodie's first game of the season and the boys came away with the win 💙

Another week off work and continuing treatment to dissolve the clots over the coming months but he is on the mend and glad to be home.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE SUBTLE SIGNS!..

We had a bit of a wakeup call this week and things could have been so much worse but we are grateful that they weren't.

For the last couple of weeks hubby has been feeling tired, had a persistent cough and just thought he was coming down with the flu. So he started with the cold and flu tablets and some cough medicine, as we all do when we feel one coming on.

He was finding it hard to catch his breath while working (as a farrier) and last week just moving around the house doing little things made him breathless. He still a horrible cough, all day and night and thinking the flu was the cause he headed off to the doctors.

At the doctors he happened to mention how breathless he was getting just doing simple things, like drying himself after a shower. So the doctor sent him for a CT Angiogram and low and behold, he has 3 large blood clots in his lungs.

We were shocked with the diagnosis and all the health professionals were asking why he had not come in sooner. He has 2 blood clots behind each knee as well and they have obviously moved to his lungs.

However he has no leg or chest pain expected with clotting, no obvious knocks or bruising in recent months and other than the breathlessness and persistent cough, no other typical signs.

He is being treated in hospital and feeling better already. He will be off work for a couole of weeks, then ease back into it.

We just wanted to share this timely reminder to pay closer attention to your health when those subtle changes happen, they could be more serious than you ever imagined.
