It was a "SUPER" Saturday for our leading Provincial trainer Kris Lees Racing 🏆

His filly You Wahng took out the G1 Queensland Oaks at Eagle Farm with Tommy Berry in the saddle. But the wins didn't stop there, Loch Eagle tasting success at Randwick & Brave Call scoring on the home track.

The in-form Nathan Doyle stable picked up a race to race double at the Metro meeting, while Ash Morgan bagged the jockeys honours with a Metro treble

Kris Lees Racing says Brudenell’s wide barrier may not be such a disadvantage as he seeks to snare his second Royal Randwick feature June sprint tomorrow.

The leading Newcastle Racecourse trainer won the Listed Bob Charley AO Stakes, 1100m – then known as the June Stakes - in 2016 with Danish Twist, who clinched her fourth victory in a row after beginning that streak with a Provincial Championships Final victory over 1400m at the same track in April that year.

Lees’ former apprentice Dylan Gibbons, back in winning vein with doubles at the last two Saturday city meetings, renews a successful association with Brudenell in tomorrow’s edition. Read more 👇

BRAD Widdup will wait until near Saturday morning’s 7.30am scratching deadline before deciding whether Phearson has another crack at 1600m at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

The leading Hawkesbury Race Club Limited trainer nominated the dual Group 3 winner for both the 1600m Handicap and Listed Spear Chief Handicap (1500m) at the corresponding Eagle Farm meeting, but accepted only for the former.

Phearson drew barrier 13 in a field of 15 for his Randwick assignment, and Widdup has retained his stable apprentice Zac Wadick to utilise his 2kg claim, lessening the gelding’s weight to 56kg. BROCK Ryan knew the moment “the buzz was back”.

Three hundred and thirty-one winners into his riding career, the now 31-year-old jockey pulled the pin after finishing unplaced on $26 outsider Extreme Freedom for his former bosses and greatest supporters Rob and Luke Price at Hawkesbury Race Club Limited on March 28 last year.

“I had a bit going on at the time,” Ryan recalled.

“My partner Madison Waters (fellow jockey) and myself had started a family (son Parker is now two years of age), and I had come back from a shoulder reconstruction.

“To be honest, I had lost the drive and was going to the races not fully committed.

“You have to be totally committed to succeed in this game.” Read more 👇 📸 Bradley_Photos Racing https://www.provincialracingnsw.com.au/post/brock-ryan-the-buzz-came-back

Wyong Race Club whiz Shaggy’s planned resumption at Royal Randwick on Saturday has been called off.

Instead Allan Kehoe's brilliant youngster will head north for a Listed race at Eagle Farm’s Stradbroke Handicap meeting on Saturday week.
