Loved starting the day at Fundraising Forum with our first ever F&P Member breakfast session. ✨

A big thank you to Kerry McLeod who led a powerful session that reminded us how important self-care is and the toll being a fundraiser can take on our mental and physical health.

And thank you to our awesome members who were up early to join us. 💜

Have you caught part 1 and 2 of our recent series Beyond Donor Love by June Steward yet? 👀

In a series of four articles, June reflects on a conversation about donor-centred fundraising and growing donor love with Professor Jen Shang PhD, Philanthropic Psychologist, and Co-Founder and Co-Director at the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy in the UK.

Part 1. Moving beyond donor-centred vs community-centred fundraising can be read here: https://fandp.com.au/beyond-donor-love-part-1-moving-beyond-donor-centred-vs-community-centred-fundraising-400562/

Wouldn't it be nice to plan a fundraising campaign with unlimited budget?

Reality is... most fundraisers are pulling together campaigns with very limited budget. Sound familiar?

But it is actually possible to run a fully integrated appeal on a shoestring budget.

Take it from the team at Variety – The Children's Charity New Zealand, who were able to pull off a fully integrated 2023 Christmas appeal (yes, there was direct mail, digital, TV, radio and outdoor) on a constrained budget.

At Fundraising Forum, Director of Marketing and Fundraising at Variety NZ, Marnie Pitcher, will share the smart choices, compelling creative and top tactics that made that (half million dollar) difference.

The Early Bird Discount is here until Thursday 25 July. Check out the program and register now: https://fandp.eventsair.com/2024-fundraising-forum/

By administering over 4000 estates on behalf of charities around the country, Bequest Assist have identified millions of dollars of income lost through the estate administration process.

These funds are lost in many ways, but there are five you should be aware of that are the most common and costly:
1. Incorrect taxation
2. Unnecessary legal fees
3. Executor’s commissions
4. Administration errors
5. Missing gifts

Understanding these problems and how you can best try to prevent them occurring can save your nonprofit missing out on funds intended for you.

Morgan Koegel, Managing Director at Bequest Assist shares more in our recent article.

Happy Friday Fundraiser ☀️ Here is a story to wrap up the week.

Children undergoing treatment at Sydney Children's Hospital in Westmead can now spend time with their pets while in hospital thanks to a partnership between The Petbarn Foundation and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

The Pet Park is the only one of its kind in New South Wales and is a dedicated outdoor area for sick kids to reunite with their pets and get a furry cuddle.

A second park will also be opened at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick later on.

We hope your heart is as warmed as ours and that you have a wonderful weekend ahead 💜

14/06/2024

Are you from a small-medium nonprofit and would love to attend Fundraising Forum but don't have the budget?

There are FOUR bursaries available!

At the FIA conference earlier this year, Miriam Raphael won the annual ‘Fundraising Myth Smashers’ session with a compelling presentation: The Long and the Short of It: Smashing the Myth of the Four-Page Fundraising Letter.

She ran into June Steward, a fellow fundraising copywriter extraordinaire and aficionado of the four-page fundraising letter (and, even better, the six-page letter), and had a chat about it.

So we thought it would be fun, and enlightening, to have a debate in the pages of F&P.

F&P members can find the debate within the pages of the latest F&P mag or online here: https://fandp.com.au/long-versus-short-fundraising-letters-399735/
