Nearly 2 weeks ago I packed up a massive part of my life…. My business

I have not been able to announce until now because it just doesn’t really feel real yet.

No decision has been made if I have hung up the boots for good or if I’ll be back in a little while, but until I make that decision I will be keeping my foot in the door by still supplying Dermaviduals to anyone who still wants fantastic skin care! (Send me a message if you want to get onto my email list!)

I am a MASSIVE believer in everything happens for a reason! Even if you have no idea what that reason is just yet.

The universe threw me a massive curve ball with the big surprise of another beautiful baby, at the same time as my little family had made the decision to completely change our lifestyle and live a tiny, low tox and sustainable life.

Anyone who knows me knows I am always doing something or many things, but this was taking it to far!

Nearly 11 years of being in business and it has been the hardest years of my life, especially since having a family.
My first 2 babies I was forced to sacrifice my time with them to keep a business alive and I knew my mental health would not cope with doing this again.

So although closing my beautiful salon was never on the cards for me pre baby surprise, it didn’t take me long after finding out that it needed to happen.

The space will still continue on just in a little different way with Amy Fenton Cosmetic Tattooing now occupying the space and I’m so happy it will still be loved and enjoyed.

The one thing I am going to miss the most is seeing all of my loyal and beautiful clients everyday, some have been with me the whole 11 years!
I have made beautiful friendships and gained many mentors from my clients and I am beyond grateful for that.

Going from a super structured, time strict and planned life as a beauty therapist and business owner, I am looking forward to the change in pace and new skills and knowledge I am going to learn living this new lifestyle.
Oh and plus being a full time mumma of 3! Kids 😳🤯 still blows my mind when I think or say it out loud!

I’ll still be wrapping things up until baby arrives so contactable for a couple more weeks 🙏🏼☺️

My days and hours are very limited as I get bigger and more easily exhausted with this 3rd pregnancy and the crazy life of running around after 2 other toddler maniacs! 😈

As this door closes another exciting chapter starts for me and my family which has something not very common to show for Mount Gambier, you can follow along that journey at if you wish ☺️🙏🏼

Pending the hormonal emotions I may pop on as a final goodbye but I am a very ugly cryer so 🥴 we shall see 😘😘

Swipe to see the difference in a very impaired barrier and inflamed skin with some perioral dermatitis!

Repairing the barrier with Essential Fatty Acid supplements and providing the skin with a second skin barrier with played a big role in getting this skin calmed.

LED with near infrared and face masks played their role also.

Winter has hit and our skin is going to change and go through a lot.

Now is the time to reassess what you are supporting your skin with.

Internal gut health also plays a big role in this type of skin and many skin conditions! If you have struggled to get results with products internals are where you need to look.

Well with a wave of emotions hitting hard when I seen the actual listing for the first time it is sad for me to share that my first baby, my home for so long is up for sale!

With an unexpected surprise entering my life it is the right time to see if I can find someone to take on my beautiful studio and give it the time, energy and love that I no longer will be able to give.

Although I have been focusing on my passion of skin it is able to be any sort of salon anyone wants it to be.

This amazing location and space has another section that is able to be used to expand the space if needed.

I will be happy to share and support as much or as little as someone needs up until October!

As for all my beautiful clients- I’m still here for a while and I still am going to give it my all right up until I can no longer (I’ll share more on this in the coming days!)

Do you use your moisturiser daily, but feel the need to reapply a second time because your “skin always feels dry”?

You might be experiencing the ‘wash out effect’ of emulsifiers.

Did you know that the emulsifiers in our skincare products have been found to include higher irritant properties than fragrances or preservatives? (Most skin therapists don’t know this). Ultimately these emulsifiers can cause modification to our skin barrier defences!

Let’s define an emulsifier…

When surface-active agents are used to combine the water and oil phases of cream.

Where do they live?

One of the most common forms of cosmetic products, you can find them in skin lotions, make-up, and hair products. An easy and inexpensive tactic, we know that cost is the reason why so many products are made up of emulsifiers.

Why say no to emulsifiers?

To put it simply, while skin tolerance of these substances may vary, the science says emulsifiers can impact the first lines of skin barrier defence. For this reason, conventional creams can create inflammation, aggravate dermatitis, and weaken the skin.

The solution?

DMS creams. The answer is derma membrane structure. Instead of including emulsifiers, these creams are structured in a way that is comparable to the natural barrier layers of the skin.
