‘The Peppermints’ are a dynamic indie duo ready to bring dramatic and romantic sounds to your ears. The leading ladies, Eden Beveridge-Wood and Monika Jurisic, channel a unique vibe influenced by Alanis Morrissette, Beabadoobee, and The Japanese House. Poignant lyrics and melting harmonies create a dreamy yet reflective mood in this acoustic set.

Caitlin Holdcroft is a singer-songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. With roots in jazz, blues and Christian music, her sound is raw and soulful. Caitlin has been providing live music professionally for over 10 years, and is currently studying music at Monash University. Caitlin is currently focusing on her original music, and recently released her debut album ‘Be Good To Me’ in August 2024.

Diva Bhatia is an independent singer-songwriter who loves creating heartfelt songs inspired by her own life. Divas music is introspective and emotional, influenced by artists like Dean Lewis, James Arthur, and Lewis Capaldi. Striving to create songs that not only tell her story but also resonate deeply with others, hoping to bring comfort and understanding to anyone who listens.

Sebastian Conidi, playing under the name ‘Al Fonso’, has been writing and performing for multiple years. His influences include Nick Drake, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell with original songs that cover a broad range of themes. He also plays in indie rock band ‘Smoking Caterpillar’ who gig steadily across the Melbourne music scene.

Authentic and vulnerable, Jacinta Bennett draws on her personal and intimate experiences in life to write her own music and channel deep emotion into her performances to create meaningful connections with her audience. Being adopted in Hong Kong by an Aussie and Greek family, her unconventional upbringing heavily shapes her outlook on life as well as her musical journey, being exposed to a variety of music throughout her life. Today, Jacinta looks to strong female artists such as ‘Laufey’, ‘Snoh Aalegra’, ‘Sarah Kinsley’, ‘WILLOW’, ‘Lizzy Mcalpine’, ‘SZA’ and ‘Olivia Dean’ whose music and artistry resonate deeply with her, to help draw inspiration in hopes of crafting her own unique creative vision. Studying at Monash’s Sir Zelman school of music, Jacinta is finding her feet as a developing artist, working to deliver memorable performances and create music for the heart and soul.

From four mates jamming in the garage, mucking around, and writing music, to playing some of Melbourne’s biggest live music venues, Astral High are a four-piece Alternative rock band ready to blow your minds with their raw energetic sound and infectious melodies. Forming in 2022 in the picturesque landscapes of Gippsland Victoria, Australia, the band consists of Lead Guitarist/Vocalist Will Griffiths, Guitarist/Vocalist Julian Colantuono, Bassist Izaak Estandarte, and Drummer Joseph Nobile. Inspired by early 2000’s brit rock and the current Aus Indie Rock scene, Astral High brings together a one of a kind sound, capturing the spirit of finding love, identity and purpose.

The Heartstrings weave an intricate web of nostalgic pop, powerful lyrics and vintage rock vocals in their collective sound. Drawing from legendary music icons like Joan Jett and the Cranberries, The Heartstrings bring trance-inducing sonic textures and melodic indie guitar to hit the stage of Melbourne.

Sometimes troubled by the dimensions of his own thoughts, Joey Silveira’s music reflects a deep sense of curiosity with the world he lives in. Rooted in Alternative Pop Rock, inspired by the likes of Pink Floyd early 00s Coldplay and Harry Styles, Joey Silveira’s compositions draw on complex, emotive concepts seeking to explain or contemplate his surroundings. With his 4 piece band, Joey builds a fuller sound around his usually solo compositions, balancing his self accompanied guitar or piano playing with ambient bass, drums and, lightly textured electric guitar.

YOOF is a six-piece Funk-R&B-Soul-Jazz Fusion band who come together to create a unique, high-energy sound that has resonated with audiences at venues like The Gaso, The Leadbeater, Ringo Barr, and most recently Fed Square!

With an alternative rock and art pop sound mixed with a touch of cabaret, Sophia Maltarollo aims to captivate audiences through her alluring storytelling and bewitching stage presence. Her complete surrender to the spirit of music as she performs is an enchanting sight, making Sophia an eclectic up-and-coming musical experience new on the scene and not to be missed.

The Whyb Project is the manic/sappy funk of Melbourne. Strange and awkward, but pleading lyrics combine with chunky guitar rhythms, strong thunderous bass, and chaotic, but beautiful drum grooves to create an emotional, but danceable experience.

Chelc is here to shine pop and indie music under a new light. Her sound is intimately dreamy with an exciting edge, transporting the audience to vivid soundscapes and a wide world of imagination. Venturous yet sincere narratives meet lush vocal melodies to bring you a captivatingly dynamic performance.

YMII is pop rock artist based in Melbourne. Her melancholic sound is intended to
catalogue the challenging emotions that accompany the human experience and is often inspired by
the themes of navigating adulthood, mental anguish, grief, acceptance, and personal growth. The
vulnerable and somewhat ethereal demeanor of her music reflects her key creative influences,
Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, and Kate Bush.

TITRATION are a dramatic alt-rock force from Melbourne whose energetic stage shows, emo tendencies and rock bangers get a room moving at every show. Is 2024 already over? Apparently it is? We want to give a huge thank you to everyone that was apart of Radio Monash this year. Whether you were a show host, recording studio user, an artist, someone who came to our gigs and events or our volunteers. Radmon has experienced rapid growth this year, and we can only thank our awesome community for that!

As the semester has come to an end, Radio Monash is officially closed till February next year. If you are interested in using the recording studio over the break, please email [email protected]
If you have any questions about the radio studio and getting involved in the future, please email [email protected]

If you miss our shows and programming, don’t forget to check out our podcasts! We will still be publishing articles and having content coming out over the last months of the year, so stay tuned.
