It’s official! Never Get Busted will premiere at the 2025 Film Festival, screening in the Episodic Pilot Showcase section.

Barry Cooper was a highly decorated Texas narcotics officer — until he turned on the police force by busting crooked cops and teaching drug users how to hide their stash.

Back in October the APH team was excited to attend a special preview screening of the musical biopic Better Man, featuring an introduction by producer Paul Currie.

Made in Australia, Better Man is a wildly inventive film. Telling his story from Williams’ own perspective, it captures his signature wit and unshakable spirit. APH has a leading favourite for Best Film at the 2025 AACTA Awards ~ THE CORRESPONDENT

Based on Peter Greste’s 2017 memoir The First Casualty, ’The Correspondent’ follows Greste (Richard Roxburgh) as he accepts a last-minute assignment to cover a colleague’s post in Cairo during the Arab Spring, only to be arrested and accused of terrorism.

With only his wits keeping him alive, Greste’s survival means staring down a powerful regime to fight for freedom.

Julian Maroun and Rahel Romahn portray Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed, respectively, the two colleagues arrested alongside Greste, with the cast also including Yael Stone, Nic Cassim, Mojean Aria, Fayssal Bazzi, Majid Shokor, Josh McConville, and Hazem Shammas.

Peter Duncan wrote the screenplay, while former Network 10 news and current affairs general manager Carmel Travers produced for Pop Entertainment. Kriv Stenders again smashes another amazing story with unique cinematography from Greste’s perspective of his 400 days in prison. Shooting took place in Sydney earlier this year.

The Correspondent received major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Screen NSW under the Made in NSW Fund and the Regional Filming Fund. It was Financed with support from Jovial Planet Productions, Spectrum Entertainment, Dreamlight Studio, the Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund, Fulcrum Media Finance, and High Pass Holdings.

The film will be released in cinemas on Boxing Day via Maslow Entertainment. Congratulations to all involved. AMAZING FILM!

The APH team was thrilled to attend a special members screening of the documentary The Musical Mind: A Portrait in Process. The event featured a Q&A session with director Scott Hicks and Brian Nankervis, aka Raymond J Bartholomeuz.

This captivating film offers an intimate look into the creative process. Featuring superstar musicians Ben Folds, Daniel Johns, David Helfgott and Simon Tedeschi. MUSICAL MIND explores how each musician channels their unique perspectives into sublime musical creations.
