You would be 61 today dad, yet you’re 55 years young always and forever. I cherish every moment we had together making precious memories & miss you so much every day. It’s so easy to question & think about what life would’ve looked like today if our family were still all together & it hurts me everytime I do.
I just love and miss you so much that it’s impossible not to think about the “what ifs”, even though it physically pains me.

You are & will always be the most amazing father one could ask for, plus my hero. I’m holding you close to my heart always… 💙

Feeling so grateful to have celebrated another year around the sun last month, a year where so much has happened.

Firstly I travelled half way around the world with mum to get some form of justice, fully prepared to go to trial but was finally able to have our legal fight come to an end. It was scary, extremely exhausting & tough in so many ways. I felt as though I was trapped between my future & the past as this went on. At the end of the day, we were willing to do whatever was needed of us to fight for dad, Krystal & ourselves. All I can hope for is that we made Krystal & dad proud for not giving up & that they know how amazing the team of people we had around us are.

Then we visited New Zealand, but specifically we visited the town of Whakatane, where everything took place. I got to meet the heroic pilots, the local community, victims & families also affected as we shared in our grief & sorrow, whilst supporting one another. An emotional but much needed step on this journey.

I had the opportunity to travel overseas for work in France, so of course I extended it so that mum & I could enjoy time there as well. Our first holiday overseas together since what should’ve been a family holiday in 2019. It was odd & upsetting not having my dad & sister with us. It left me feeling guilty for enjoying myself at times but I’m so grateful to have made such wonderful memories with my mum.

I also learnt that you shouldn’t knock off an idea before you try it! I can’t believe I assumed that I’d never be able enjoy certain activities ever again because of my fingers being amputated. Yet finally when I agreed to give bowling a go I realised I can still play & damn it was fun. I’ve played bowling twice in the last year & the improvement from one game was awesome to see. Now I’m setting myself some bowling goals because the competitiveness in me needs to get good lol.

I’m very grateful for each day that I get to make new memories & to spend time with those I care & love for. Every day, every year is precious.

To my gorgeous mum who has set the standard so high for all other mums, Happy birthday for yesterday! 😘

You are the most selfless person I know, who always put family first. Family was and will always be your every thing. You live your life caring for & helping others & I have always admired that about you. It’s because of you & dad that I want to be the best person that I can, to make a positive difference in people’s lives the same way you do. Krystal & I have always felt lucky to have the family we do and our memories together will always be cherished and never forgotten. The love we all have for each other will never be forgotten and I know that dad & Krystal are here with us for your birthday & every other day.

I’m so proud of you mum for overcoming all you have and for staying true to your morals no matter what. Thank you for being who you are & for being the best role model one could have in life. I look forward to another year full of treasured memories.

I love you so much, always….
🎂♥️

Even though my skin absolutely hates the cold weather, I mean it physically hurts my body & turns my skin blue 🥲

I still LOVE winter & cold weather because I prefer the fashion & I think you can have more fun with layering hehe. (Sorry skin grafts….)

So here’s some of what I wore in France 🥰

Whenever I was told to apply sunscreen to my skin it felt like a job. “Yeah yeah I know.” I’d get a little sunburnt here and there and never saw it as a big deal. When it came to my skin care I would apply the bare minimum to get by.
I didn’t fully grasp just how important skin is until I lost mine. I didn’t fully appreciate the role of our skin, the largest organ of our body, until I was in hospital fighting everyday to help it heal.

When asked me to join their global team in Paris to celebrate their 50th anniversary, I couldn’t have been more honoured & grateful. It’s an honour because I know that they work with the right people to give us the best skin care products possible. They work with dermatologists and scientists and perform research and studies because they care about our skin.
Joining them in Paris and being able to hear about the history of the brand and what they hope to achieve in the future really touched me.

Looking after our skin is so vital & important, because our skin is looking after us in return. I look at my scars & I see what my skin has done for me, my survival. I now value & appreciate the importance of taking care of my skin & using the right products to do that. My skin deserves that. 💙
Are you taking care of your skin?
