Dr. Mike leads you to tight Rock and Metal Recording by coaching your band members in the Recording Studio to help deliver their best performances. Guitar and Bass Amps: Custom Audio Amplifiers OD 100, Engl Blackmore, EVH 5150 III, Darkglass Alpha Omega 900. We record drums at Bushido Studios, Rangemaster.

3. Producer
Dr. Mike develops custom approaches to discovering your Unique sound for recording Rock and Metal Guitars, Bass, Drums, Synths, or Vocals. As a Producer, Doctor Mike meticulously ensures that chosen sounds match to your Unique Vision for the song.

4. Mixing and Mastering
Dr. Mike utilises a Hybrid Modern Digital and Analog approach as a Mixing Engineer to get the most heavy-hitting, unique and colourful Mixing and Mastering for your Rock and Metal tracks.

I'm still pinching myself on how long I've come.

Yesterday we had an amazing catch up with Simon at The Avenue recording studios. The space is incredible and has a rich recording history of Melbourne metal bands in 2010s. One of the best SSL consoles in town, spectacular acoustics, sick microphone selection - anything you need, really.

I've been dreaming to record heavy bands full-time. Sitting in front of the console and running sessions. For so many years I thought that this is unachievable.

This photo (with my moderate excitement) proves otherwise. I'm exactly here. I'm stoked to serve valuable to you, heavy bands, and help you create the best sounding records.

Not to say that this lifestyle is a challenge. It requires 110% focus on my craft, and wrapping the rest of the life around it. It is so much worth it though.

I want to celebrate the release of Gladiolus - Inertia with you once again.

This album is an incredibly personal venture to me, even though I was only involved as a mixing engineer.

I could feel through the deepest journey that Dan, Anson, Zak, and Joe pictured in these songs. I still feel very emotional listening to them after a while as I channeled these messages through when mixing the tracks.

The album has been long in the works, the process has been complex and tedious - as it goes with any prog metal album.

It's out there now, and ProgSphere rightfully rated the album 10/10. I couldn't expect any less for the lads as their musicanship speaks for itself, and my job was to simply represent it in the best light and not step in their way.

With this, please enjoy Inertia as much as we all do, and maybe you would connect to these songs too!

So uber stoked and grateful to receive the most lovely postcard from Nate and the lads!

This project has been an absolute blast. From meeting each other out of a sheer accident (Richmond, Victoria and Richmond, Virginia) and checking out the raw demos, helping the lads with songwriting and remote pre-production, to producing the record, seeing Devolution collaborate with the best heavy musicians in the world, working with Tue Madsen and finally peaking in the US charts and at the , the journey has been nothing short of amazing!

So grateful to contribute to this incredible album and see the lads go so so far!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you , Eric, , Chris, and the rest of the team!!

DEVOLUTION hitting the #1 US heavy music charts!! 🔥🔥💪

Here is a bit of a story.

In 2021, we connected with DEVOLUTION. A pure coincidence as Nate lives in Richmond, VA, USA. And I reside in Richmond, VIC.

At a time, the guys had some demos and just wanted these refined.

I was able to help them out as a producer, refining their vision, doing some Zoom sessions for electronic drum takes.

I also helped them to connect with Jon Howard with whom we had a blast working on The Overcoming Project

Fast forward, the snowball has rolled in. DEVOLUTION connected with the best in the industry, including ex Fear Factory bass player Christian Olde Wolbers, and Christian Machado (Lions at the Gate).

They had Tue Madsen mixing the album and Ted Jensen mastering it.

Look at DEVOLUTION now, premiering the songs at REVOLVER Magazine Magazine and just had the news now, topping #1 metal charts in the US!!

This is my biggest dream come true, helping a band achieve the wildest dreams possible as a producer!!

I am grateful and stoked for the achievements of DEVOLUTION and super keen to help more of you guys out 🤙🤟

Mike has a unique skillset in the music industry. Starting as a live and studio guitarist for groove/modern metal band Gift of Madness, Mike has merged his taste in modern Rock and Metal with the classical piano background he has attained prior.

As a PhD, Mike applies his skills to serve as your ultimate problem solver and music supervisor. This allows to relieve the stress from your shoulders and navigate music production process efficiently, while you focus on the only important thing - your music.
