Our Story

SPARC is a theatre company of adults who live in unstable housing in The City of Port Phillip. Many struggle to access their community and for some members meaningful relationships are incredibly few and far between. SPARC Theatre’s first podcast season ‘Teapot Topics’ showcases the wonderfully unconventional members of the SPARC ensemble and their responses to encountering love, loneliness, independence, freedom and heroism. The Teapot Topics podcast has been developed over the course of weekly theatre and storytelling workshops in 2016 and 2017. Teapot Topics was created by SPARC Theatre with artists Myf Powell, Rachel Edward and Geoffrey Thorsen. Teapot Topics is supported by a grant from the Besen Family Foundation. SPARC Theatre is supported by The Port Phillip City Council, Prahran Mission and Port Phillip Community Group. SPARC received further support from Marsha from St Kilda.
