I’m finally backkkkkk, I can 100% confirm that COVID and I are not pals... 😷

As you might have seen on the stories, the family and I were struck down by good ‘ole COVID. It got me good, and after feeling like my brain was bursting from my head it's made me have a good think about boundaries!

Let me ask you, does any of this sound familiar?

🤔It’s fine I’ll just work a couple of late nights this week, it won’t hurt, I just have to get this done.

🤔It’s ok I’ll just work this weekend it’s alright!

🤔Oooops, it’s 3pm and I’m just eating my lunch now.

I know I am guilty of this! Are you?

When we try to do absolutely everything, we end up burning the candle from both ends and running on reserves. It’s only when you get sick or allow yourself to have a break do you realise that you don't have anything left in the tank.

It's easy for boundary lines to blur and once you break them, they can quickly become a bad habit.

⏰ If like me you have become a little lax with your boundaries, this is your wake-up call ⏰

Setting and upholding these boundaries are the building blocks for our long-term success as a business owner!

Are you feeling like you're in the "I suck at this era" when it comes to socials? Embrace it, it's totally okay to be in the learning phase!

None of us are perfect, especially when we're diving into something new, remember your first product or service? Do you look back at it and cringe? Brilliant, that means you have grown. Even if you compare your business to a year ago, you are in a completely different place, right? Imagine if you gave up back then—where would you be now?

It's easy to try something a few times, feel like we're not good at it, and want to throw in the towel. But new things take time and practice.
So, instead of throwing in that towel when it comes to socials, hold onto it tight! The key to stopping that feeling is taking small, consistent steps every day.

Those little improvements you make daily? They add up to big changes over time. Just imagine where you'll be in another year! Put time and effort into educating yourself and work on one part of your chosen platform at a time, then move on to another, take a step back and be kind to your mind, no-one is an Instagram expert overnight.

If you can't face doing videos, then don't. If captions have you deleting every word you worked on for 45 minutes, write shorter ones and build them up as your confidence grows. Be kind to yourself and show up in a way that works for where you are right now. Drop the expectations and roll with it.

It's time to embrace that discomfort and lean into your "I suck at this" era because it won't last forever, promise!

Wondering how often you should be posting on Instagram?

Do what feels right for YOU and what you can stick to consistently! 🙌

I talk to so many people who think that to run a successful business you need to be post every day - but that’s just not true! I hate seeing people put themselves under so much unnecessary pressure, and when they don’t meet this posting schedule they beat themselves up.

If you can post twice-a-day seven days a week, keep shining! ✨ But if three posts a week is your vibe for dropping quality content, that’s just as awesome. The key? Consistency. If posting feels like a whole lot of hard work, you’ll start to dread it, and before you know it, weeks have gone by without a single post... crickets. No one wants that. So start with what you can manage, and grow from there.

This is your official permission slip to be kind to yourself.

Find a rhythm that lets you create a content schedule that allows you to deliver brilliant content that connects with your audience consistently without burning out. After all, your best work comes when creativity flows.

I know I'm not alone in thinking International Women's Day often feels like a mere formality, a box to be ticked with hosting an event, putting on a pink morning tea, or shoving up a social media post. Then, it's out of mind until the one rolls around.

🚫 It's not a ONE-day-a-year event. 🚺 REAL CHANGE for Women is made by taking action EVERY DAY🚺

So today, I am celebrating the amazing people in my life who dedicate themselves daily to creating ripple effects for us all and the next generation of women.

I am one of the lucky ones who get to work alongside some of those incredible people, witnessing and supporting their influence.

So, thank you to those who show up day in and day out to make a difference, not just one day a year. Your efforts are seen, appreciated, and celebrated today and every day.

When it comes to social media, it can be super tempting to jump into the latest trends or shiny new strategies that promise instant success. The truth is that there is no shortcut to social media success(annoying, I know...sigh), it takes consistent effort, a well-thought-out plan, and a commitment to stick to that plan.

As a social media strategist, I've learned that the most impactful growth comes from consistency and a long-term approach. Unfortunately, so many people give up wayyyyy too quickly. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard someone say that "video didn't work for them," when in reality they only posted a few videos before giving up I'd be on a three month trip to Italy laying on the beach with an aperol spritz in hand as we speak.

Think of your social media presence as a long-term investment that requires regular TLC and attention, just like that damn fiddle leaf plant you've been trying to keep alive for but forget all about and only water when the leaves start to look sad...ooops... Neglect leads to withering, while TLC nurtures growth.

So, before you decide to drop that plan you've been working on, remember:
- 🔄 Give things a red hot go: The real magic happens over time.
- 🔍 Review and tweak: It's not about sticking with something that isn't working but about adjusting and refining as you go.
- 🎯 Keep your eye on the prize: Lasting change and results come from continuous, consistent effort - don't give up at the first hurdle.

I'm breaking up with self-help books! 📖

That's right, you heard me right! We're splitting the assets, I'm packing up the boxes, and it's goodbye - we are officially on a break!! ❤️‍🩹

Don't get me wrong- self-help and educational books are tools we can use to improve our skills, ourselves, and our business. But for a book lover like myself, the time I should have spent unwinding with the newest Britney biography or the latest Sally Hepworth, I spent reading books on how to succeed, be a better leader, and grow my business! While they are motivating, they are definitely not relaxing…

Instead of taking the time to kick up my feet with a coffee, I was not letting my brain switch off, and I excused myself from this bad behaviour because 'I am reading it's fine!' In reality, I was pushing myself closer to burnout!

This isn't to say that I won't still read, learn, and use these tools, but I've made myself a promise that when I decide I'm 'switching off,' I won't be reading any self-help or betterment books. It really doesn't count as switching off, now does it? 😂

2022, what a year you have been, there was so much jammed packed into the last 12 months! It’s hard to put into words just how wonderful you were, there was a glorious mix of highs and lessons.

Thank you to all of YOU for your continued support and encouragement along the way.

I feel so lucky to do what I love every day, and work with incredible business owners that all inspire me in so many ways.

A HUGE thank you to my team, we wrote a total of 902 posts in December, scheduled it, are still standing(just) and everything else we ticked off the list in between🙌🏼.

Thank you to .and.co.store for steering the ship, while I enjoy my first break for 2022, soak up my family and enjoy a margarita or two, sleep in and a bloody well deserved recharge, I appreciate it so muchhhhh.
