Chemical Media Original content for television and the web

Chemical Media is an independent television production company established by the team which successfully brought the Lonely Planet brand to television. Its founders have made over 100 hours of programming for broadcasters such as Discovery Channel, National Geographic, the BBC, Channel Four, Mediacorp and SBS. Along the way we’ve produced shows on everything from British gangsters to Chinese dati

ng agencies, handled location shoots from Kalgoorlie to Kazakhstan, been hailed by prime ministers, denounced as people-smugglers, and frequently missed the last bus home. Focusing on strong storytelling and intelligent entertainment, the Chemical team has created factual documentaries, lifestyle programming and reality TV, produced oodles of short-form web videos, developed break-through social media campaigns, and occasionally even impressed our mums. With Australian roots and a global outlook, we’ve forged strategic film finance relationships with partners around the world and tailored unique content for corporate clients such as Nokia, Tourism Australia and American Express.

Chemical Media are proud to announce our latest production 'Our African Roots' will premiere on SBS at 8.30pm Sunday 17th October. This extraordinary film was made in partnership with producer and host Santilla Chingaipe. It's a remarkable shake up of how we tell our colonial history, a fuller, more inclusive account of our nation's modern journey. Thanks to the incredible cast and crew who made this ambitious film a reality.
