Lots of community broadcasters are broadcasting Christmas events live so those who can’t be there in person can still be part of the festivities.

Incredible spirit!

This year, for those unable to attend the Christmas carols in person, Connect FM, in collaboration with the Bordertown Interchurch Council, will make an effort to bring the festive spirit to you over the airwaves.

"There's a yearning for community spirit"

That was the message Ben Rodgers gave to community broadcasters in the Inner North Community Foundation's area this morning.

We also heard how other charities, non-profits and community groups are connecting with their communities and strategies to secure long term support from within local communities.

Thanks to everyone who came along and shared what opportunities and challenges their organisations are facing and to Ben for leading a great conversation.

Did you know that Community Broadcasting Foundation is powered by over 150+ volunteers across our grant assessors, committees and board?

They do it because they love community broadcasting and the communities we serve.

They bring skills, perspectives and experiences from all across Australia.

This International Volunteer Day we thank everyone who makes Community Broadcasting Foundation possible and the nearly 18,000 people who volunteer in community broadcasting across Australia 💚

People with disabilities are vital contributors to community broadcasting across Australia.

As our next round of grants opens up in early 2026, now is a great time to explore local partnerships to remove barriers for people with disabilities.

As always, our Grants Support Team are here to chat about application ideas and share advice on how you can boost the participation of people with disabilities in your station.

A community radio station in Alice Springs is becoming a breeding ground for new, diverse voices by giving people with disability a platform to broadcast.
