JOY Media stands in solidarity with the victims, families and loved ones of yesterday’s horrifying attack at Bondi Beach.

We’ve witnessed an act of terror unlike anything we are familiar with in Australia.

This attack was targeted at the Jewish community as they were to begin observing Hanukkah.
As a marginalised community ourselves, our hearts go out to those affected. We condemn all violence, and stand with those impacted at this terrible time.

Take time to check in with your friends and loved ones.

Over the coming days and weeks, you may feel upset, anxious, or sad, even if you weren't there or don't feel like you're directly affected. Support is available if you need it.

Lots of community broadcasters are broadcasting Christmas events live so those who can’t be there in person can still be part of the festivities.

Incredible spirit!

This year, for those unable to attend the Christmas carols in person, Connect FM, in collaboration with the Bordertown Interchurch Council, will make an effort to bring the festive spirit to you over the airwaves.

"There's a yearning for community spirit"

That was the message Ben Rodgers gave to community broadcasters in the Inner North Community Foundation's area this morning.

We also heard how other charities, non-profits and community groups are connecting with their communities and strategies to secure long term support from within local communities.

Thanks to everyone who came along and shared what opportunities and challenges their organisations are facing and to Ben for leading a great conversation.
