The Victorian State Government has cut funding for Writers Victoria.

Writers Victoria runs workshops, advertises submission opportunities, advocates for the betterment of writers ... and, well, does a whole lot.

They are an invaluable resource for writers.

Sadly, whenever there are any sort of budgets cuts at Federal or State level, the Arts are always among the first to suffer.

Please sign this petition urging State Government to restore funding for Writers Victoria.

Well Open Mic Night 116 aka Busybird’s Christmas Party was a massive success last night. So many people packing HQ out and most in amazing costumes all trying to win the Best Costume Prize. Mixed that with so much fantastic food and the readings tonight were just something else. WOW, that’s it for functions here for 2025 but I must say when you sit back and reflect on the year, it’s been super busy, super fun and I’ve met some more super authors who have joined our close knit Busybird Comminity. 🙂 Roll on an exciting 2026.
