Our page reflects local stories within the City of Greater Dandenong and the City of Monash. The City of Monash is one of Melbourne’s biggest municipalities, with a population of almost 205,000 people. Located 20 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s central business district, Monash is ethnically diverse, with 48 per cent of residents born overseas. The city covers an area of 82 square kilometres,

which includes the Monash Medical Centre and the Victoria Police Academy. The City of Greater Dandenong encompasses an area of 129 square kilometres. It is the most culturally diverse community in Australia with residents from 157 different birth places. More than 64 per cent of its population were born overseas, many of those who have migrated to the area have origins in parts of the world with recent histories of conflict, violence and displacement.
