Inside The Old Bar in Fitzroy, new signs have been stuck up all over the walls that read: “No dancing whilst drinking.” Owner Liam Matthews is the first to admit that this is off-putting for punters, but he said the venue was left with little choice.

The owner of one East Brunswick venue said her liability insurance had skyrocketed from just under $3000 a year to almost $30,000 annually.

Hey people, I wanna thank my w**d brothers for their patience with me this year while I worked on other things, I ventured into realms I’ve been wanting to explore for a long time, I spent most of the year working on my solo record, it’ll be coming out on vinyl late April early May, I’ll be releasing the first single in a few weeks as a digital only type thing and to celebrate and introduce you all to this new venture and vibe, I’ll be doing a few shows through January. First up January 19 at La La La's in Wollongong, 26th at George Lane St Kilda and 27th at The Old Bar Fitzroy, I have a great band with Steve O’Brien on drums, Natalie De Silver, Guitar and Flute, Matt Houston on bass and Luke spook playing organ and pedal steel, this is pretty different from the W**d but maybe some of you might like it, all shows with my favourite freaks Tropical Strength
