As per Microsoft, this error occurs because it is not enabled in the Gmail account. Even though you will allow it, this error still comes in.
You can fix this error by installing a missing Office update available only for Office Beta.
All you need to do is make your Office 365 fetch updates from Office Insider, i.e., the beta channel.

- Close all running Office apps
- Open CMD as admin and run the following command
reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\officeupdate /v updatebranch /t REG_SZ /d BetaChannel
- Open any Office app and run the updates again manually
- Once updated, now when you try to add the Gmail account, it will redirect you to browser login
- Login to your Gmail account and allow the prompts
- It will be added fine now

This means your normal password for Hotmail or Outlook.com emails won't work anymore

in third-party email clients. for example, the Gmail app or the iPhone mail app.



You will have to use Auth2 authentication.

Scammers are also active in areas where NBN technicians are working on installing new fibre.



They could randomly come to your place offering a fibre upgrade, taking your bank account details, even asking people to pay for new hardware and postage costs, or taking access to your computer or handheld devices. Which later on is used to scam you.

To protect yourself:

-Do not engage with anyone claiming to be an NBN technician without verifying their credentials.

-Avoid sharing personal or financial information.

-Do not grant access to your devices to unverified individuals.

-Report suspicious activities to the authorities.
