When your baby Villosa, isn't such a baby anymore!! This beautiful seed grown Nepenthes has been lovingly grown by Urban Florae for almost 3 years now, recieved as a gift from an old friend Jack Dyball, she now has a superb spot in the greenhouse with amazing views! Pitcher evolution has begun, and we cannot wait to see those big toothy necks!!!

Definently worth a share, the new HL gh moss canopy is coming up minty peach, we're about halfway done on one side of the GH, lots and lots more work and micro moss detail to go, the goal here is to re-create the jungle and allow the Nepenthes to vine and thrive over a magnificent backdrop... kudos to the team

First of all I would like to thank all our wonderful and kind customers this year, and all your patience! I've been struggling keeping up with orders all year and your repeat business has blown me away. Armed with a couple of new helpers we seem to be back on track!

Good Afternoon fellow CP lovers around Australia! Some nice shots of our little Nepenthes Surigaoensis! Very proud to have brought this species to Australia and a true collectors plant! Very closely related to Merrilliana and growing on the same mountain, Surigaoensis does not dissapoint with age, huge, tubby, ruby dark pitchers you can fit your whole hand into! A must have and we have quite a few available for purchase on a limited time $80 each! Don't miss out on this beautiful, rare Phillipine Nepenthes!

Good Morning fellow Nepenthes Collectors 🥰

Today we would like to spotlight our Nepenthes Attenbourghii Black and give some background information to those collectors seeking the truly unique plants in Australia. This absolutly stunning Nepenthes is in a league of her own. I am so proud to have the seeds from America almost all pop and grow so incredibly well. These small plants are 2 years old, don't be fooled, this Nepenthes is definently taking longer to grow than any other seed grown Nepenthes we here at the nursery at Urban Florae have had the pleasure of watching grow.

I just thought i'd do a little post on the genetics of this plant. Parented by 2 very dark Nepenthes Attenbourghii, these little seedlings are all unique and different.
The undersides of the thick leaves are a very rich, dark ruby red, the tops of the leaves are hairy and growing incredibly detailed for a small plant. The adult specimens pigmentation turns to smokey shades of black, truly a superb little plant. If you are a species collector in Australia, you need to do yourself a favour and get this little gem into your collection. If you are a fan of Attenbourghii, or even the tubby squat, enormous pitchering Nepenthes of the world, you need to jump on this before they sell out.

Here at Urban Florae we are very excited to announce Truncata HL is springing to life all over the place! Currently germination success is mixed as with most seeds but we are glad to report we have had luck with Truncata Candy Peristome, (being more intermediate from reports), Truncata Dark, (hoping for blackened giant pitchers), Truncata Golden from the moss forests of Mindanao and an extremely rare Truncata Red, this is a very exciting species for Australia as the peristome is orange/red with bright red and dark red stripes, and the pitcher body is an amazingly deep ruby red! These species will be an extraordinary accompaniment to our range of Green peristome Truncata and the more typical golden red body form. Hope everyone out there in the Nepenthes world is well and look out for some incredible monster plants in the coming years from us.

Nepenthes Surigaoensis is now available for direct purchase from our nursery.
These are all seed grown and the finest quality seedlings on offer.
This is a truly elaborate Phillipine Nepenthes and first time available here in Australia. The pitchers are stunning green, and has a tendancy to shade yellow around the peristome. Some seedlings are even showing mottled purple patterns, and you can select and pick your own from the line-up. It does well in warmer, tropical climates, but we consider it an intermediate Nepenthes having grown it in several locations in and around the Nursery.

Price is firm at $130 per plant with $15 express postage available in a humidity controlled box.
