Please tell me I’m not the only one who did this whenever a first date wasn’t a complete disaster!
Is there someone in your life who needs to see this?
Make sure you share it with them or tag them👇
Or if it’s you, maybe you should join my March Considering course to understand what’s involved and evaluate whether it could be an option for you. Comment or DM me “DATING SUX” and I’ll send you the info.

We need to talk about this more as a society so more women feel empowered to make this choice and so that it’s actually a CHOICE, rather than a last resort.
On my podcast, No Need for Prince Charming, a common thread is that women went through a million options before choosing solo motherhood and many regret that and wish they had made the decision and done it sooner.
Please share your stories of becoming a solo mum by choice in the caption for other women reviewing their options. How helpful would real-life experience have been for you when you finally made a choice?
If you’re at the early stages and trying to work out whether solo motherhood could be an option for you, DM me “BOUNCE” to find out about ad hoc coaching sessions where I help you process the options available, your fears and thoughts and establish if this could be a good pathway for you to have a family.

How many examples have you seen where men are praised for looking after their kids, “babysitting”, or even playing with them at the playground, which makes them a “good dad”. But a mum on her phone to organise the 5 million other things she has to do while her child plays at the playground (not sitting in front of the tv at home), or who uses after school care so she can work to pay the mortgage, or who buys a cake instead of bakes it herself, is a bad mum.
This is not a dig at dads, but why is them doing anything for their kids, or “stepping up” to be an active parent when the relationship ends, seen as such a good thing (which assumes most men wouldn’t do the same)? But for a woman it’s just the expectation?
If you’re a single woman considering becoming a solo mum but you’re worried about judgement or what others will think, just know you’ll be judged whether you do it on your own, with a partner or if the relationship ends. There are an awful lot of judgemental people in society and an awful lot of double standards.
Stop putting your dreams on hold worrying about what others may or may not think, and just do what’s right for you!
If you’re in Australia or NZ and want to join a beautiful community of solo mums by choice who won’t judge you, just support and give considered, respectful advice, comment or DM me FACEBOOK to join Solo Mum Society.

Through my courses and 1:1 coaching I’m coming across more and more women who thought they were with the partner of their dreams and that they were heading in the direction of children, only to learn they no longer wanted kids and weren’t prepared to compromise or change their mind.
The woman still loves the partner and has to make the really tough call to pursue motherhood or the relationship. Having a child with someone else isn’t really an option as they still love their partner. Also often time is not on the woman’s side when she realises how fragile her fertility is and how many years she wasted on someone who didn’t want the same future.
If this sounds like you, joining the March Considering Solo Motherhood course would be a great way for you to understand the options. Alternatively an ad hoc coaching session would be a great way to talk through all the options whirling around your head and help you make sense of your options and fears.

Have you thought about what would happen if you weren’t here? What would happen to your children? If they’re donor conceived there is no other parent to take on that responsibility.
And if you don’t chose your child’s guardian and have your wishes captured in a legal will, someone else will make the decision for you, and it may not be the decision you would have made! How does that make you feel?
It so important that we protect ourselves and our children in case the worst happens, but it can be so overwhelming so we just procrastinate and put it off.
Coming up soon I will be joined by an incredible lawyer to talk you through what’s involved and what you need to think about to get the right legal and financial plans in place.
Comment WEBINAR and I’ll send you the link to the waitlist so you can make sure you are first to know when details are finalised and tickets are available.

If you’re new here - Hi 👋
I’m Alisha, and almost 5 years ago I finally became a mum just before my 40th birthday. I had my daughter on my own using a clinic recruited donor, and it has changed my life in all the best ways possible.
After juggling full time corporate with solo mum life I realised my passion and purpose is actually in helping other women embrace motherhood on their own terms and then providing a community and support to help them conquer life with their perfect little family.
📚 I’m an author of multiple books related to SMBCs and donor conceived families
🎙️ I host a podcast called No Need for Prince Charming
💖 I run an incredible, supportive private Facebook community full of other inspiring SMBCs from across Australia and NZ
🎉 I facilitate courses and webinars to help prepare and support you for whatever stage you are at in your solo motherhood journey so you can thrive
✈️ I organise group holidays for SMBCs and their kids which are the perfect way to relax and build relationships with other similar families
🥰 I am a trained coach who provides one-on-one support for women at all stages, helping them breakthrough previous limitations and achieve the life they dream of for them and their children
👧 And most importantly I am a mum who is constantly trying to juggle work, life admin and domestic duties whilst creating the beautiful life I imagined for my daughter and I
Drop me a DM and say hi or reach out with any questions related to any of the things I have on my plate (no surprises, with all I have on that I’m late diagnosed neurodiverse).
Welcome to my page and to Solo Mum Society xx

All of the practical advice I wish I’d known before I had my baby!
I was so worried about buying all the things and working out the logistics of getting to and from hospital I didn’t think of the real practical things I should know.
I hope this list helps! Please share with all mums to be and add in the comments other advice that might help 💕💕

🤴🏼Do you just keep dating and hope to meet Prince Charming in enough time to become a mum?
🐸 Do you settle for a frog and end up likely co-parenting?
OR…..do you take matters into your own hands and have a baby on your own and perhaps Prince Charming will turn up later? 👩🍼
Maybe the fairytale ending just has a slightly different order to the story books we grew up with?
If you’re starting to think it’s time to write your own happily ever after, join the next Solo Mum Society Considering Solo Motherhood course. It starts on Wednesday.

Almost 12 years after I tried to start a family my dreams came true when I had my beautiful daughter on my own.
What a rollercoaster!
Although it was incredibly hard whilst going through it, it’s definitely made me a stronger, more resilient and more empathetic woman. And with that a much better mother at 40 than I would have been at 28.
To everyone going through the trenches now, I send you so much love and baby dust. I hope your dreams of motherhood come true soon ### 💖💖
