Brunch and the City Hey Melbourne! Where are we at today? Here, I reflect upon the unspoken rules, cliques and taboo topics within the Brunching Influencers Society.

Heavily inspired by Candace Bushnell’s column, S*x and the City, I wish to feed you everything from behind the scenes, to the philosophy behind this trend of social brunching behaviour! I’m a multipotentialite whom after enduring a ‘wealth-promising’ full time position at 21, decided against it and went people watching in Cafés instead. t to me, the brunching culture slowly consumed my habits and slowly, I too was conducting photoshoots for my meal, finding myself critiquing and using pretentious terms like ambrosial to describe avo on toast like I were some qualified food taster - I barely know how long it takes to poach an egg lmao. As a self-described social anthropologist, I philosophize about the modern Brunch Influencer’s Culture by drawing from my own experiences and those of my friends. Through Brunch and the City, I feed the sacrifices that contemporary content creators make - by which extend beyond the food going absolutely cold - to you, my fellow social media lurker. I'll never be the woman with the perfect hair, who can wear white and not spill on it but I'll always be Curious, Courageous and Cheerful. With Love,

HAPPY NATIONAL GRAMMAR DAY🌍 my favourite example of a grammatical error is where:
Let’s eat, my friends! 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼 turns into Let’s eat my friends! 🌚😂•

Here’s also my favourite pairing from , surprisingly it’s not the HK bubble waffles but the eggs and greens instead😍•

Growing up in Hong Kong and pretty much living off bubble waffles, I felt pretty 🥺 that these looked fabulous but did not taste like home ☹️•

The flavours of the greens and eggs were superb! You’ve gotta give that a try! 🤤•

Absolutely perfect paired with a strong coffee!! Are you a coffee or tea person? ☕️/🍵? •

Avo on toast: intelligent, appreciates the small things in life•

Big brekkie: seriously doing it all for them gains and loved a bargain•

Açaí: you do it for the gram but your bubbly and also quite charismatic •

Pancakes/ waffles: you’re all about the bit of fun! Weight gain? That doesn’t worry you! •

Porridge: all about the familiar things in life, loving soul, kindest people around •

Eggs on toast/ Benedict: traditionalist and home focused•
