I used to hate DJing boat parties in my early twenties...being stuck on a boat with a bunch of strangers throwing up over the sides was the last place I wanted to be.

Over the years I've had the pleasure of djing various NAIDOC events mixing songs by great artists that don't often appear in mainstream music such as Baker Boy, Thelma Plum and INKABEE to name a few.

I'm so honoured to be a part of these community-focused events and hope that in the future that NAIDOC Week becomes a public holiday to represent the importance of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their culture as well as reflecting on the horrific events that continue to systemically impact the communities today.

I also hope to see more Indigenous DJs take on these gigs, but I appreciate the opportunities as they come in the meantime ❤️
