✨ Discovering Millstream Chichester National Park - Western Australia ✨

We’ve found a hidden gem in the heart of the Pilbara—Millstream Chichester National Park. This place is so remote, we didn’t cross paths with a single soul for three whole days. The arid landscape here is breathtaking: rugged red-stone escarpments, mountains cloaked in spinifex that give a soft, almost velvet look against the horizon.

Our days were full of adventure, from a refreshing swim at Python Pool to taking on the 4WD track to George Gorge. We also explored the south side—stopping at Deep Reach Pool, taking in the views from the cliff lookout over the Fortescue River, and getting a taste of history at the old Homestead.

Join us as we wander through this incredible and untamed slice of Australia. 🌄

✨ Discovering Millstream Chichester National Park ✨

We’ve found a hidden gem in the heart of the Pilbara—Millstream Chichester National Park. This place is so remote, we didn’t cross paths with a single soul for three whole days. The arid landscape here is breathtaking: rugged red-stone escarpments, mountains cloaked in spinifex that give a soft, almost velvet look against the horizon.

Sometimes, it’s all about the journey, not just the destination. In this case, both the journey and the destination were absolutely incredible. The Great Australian Bight—simply amazing.

It took us five days to reach the cliffs, starting from Esperance and traveling via Israelite Bay. We took our time, even stopping for a couple of days at Israelite Bay—it was stunning! Our pace slowed to around 15 km/h, especially after Wylie Scarp, making it a slow-going trek but absolutely worth the effort. Don’t you think?

Back on the Indian Ocean! This week, we are at the Ningaloo Coast, starting with the northern part near Exmouth. Stunning scenery as we explore Yardie Creek and Turquoise Bay... Colors, colors, colors—both above and below the water! Beautiful coral reefs, and we’re spotting lots of clownfish and blue tangs—having an amazing time!

Farewell, Kalgoorlie! We had a great time, and thank you to everyone who gave us recommendations on what to do while our car was being fixed!

Our top 3 favorites were:

1. **Museum of the Goldfields**: Free entry or a gold coin donation. Great views of Kalgoorlie from the top!
2. **Super Pit**: Impressive and very informative! Entry is $70 per person.
3. **Hannans Tourist Mine**: This was my favorite! There’s lots to see, (and to play with 😜) so plan for at least a couple of hours. Entry is $18, and it’s well worth it!

Finally, we went to observe a game of 2 up… wow, it has been a long time since I have seen so much « real » money being handled!

The truck is fixed! The bushes were completely worn out… we could have gotten into trouble on the tracks!

We’re now off on some new adventures! See you on the road!

Join us for part two of our Karijini adventure! This time, we stayed at the Karijini Eco Retreat, where I hiked to the breathtaking Joffre Gorge. It’s a stunning spot, but if you suffer from vertigo, be prepared—there are a few sets of ladders to navigate, and it definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone! After that challenge, we indulged in an unforgettable meal at the retreat, prepared by a French head chef whose dishes could easily rival those in a Michelin-starred restaurant, no kidding! We also enjoyed a peaceful stop at Oxer Lookout before heading to Hamersley Gorge, where the vibrant rock colors and crystal-clear water left us impressed. Stranded in Kalgoorlie-Boulder!

We were just about to leave for the Holland Track when Keith did a final check on the car and discovered that one of the bushings on the leaf spring was kaput! It might not be a big issue on regular roads, but it definitely wouldn’t survive the corrugations and rough conditions of the Holland Track.

Finding a mechanic in Kalgoorlie who could fit us reasonably quickly was a challenge—we were even considering driving to Perth to get it fixed! After talking to five different mechanics, we finally found one who can do the repairs next Wednesday.

Well, at least it’s a good opportunity to explore the local sights, like the Super Pit! Very impressive!

We’re just glad we found the problem while still in town and not out in the middle of nowhere on the Holland Track!
