Time to Let It Go 🎶

You’ve reviewed. You’ve reflected. Now, the final step: RELEASE.

This is where the real magic happens, letting go of what no longer serves you so you can walk into 2025 lighter, brighter, and more intentionally.

In the final part of the "Clearing the Slate" podcast episode, I guide you through a fun exercise to leave the baggage behind (and maybe even say thank you for the lessons it taught you).

🎙️ Trust me, your future self will want to send you a high-five.

💡 Here’s the thing: You don’t just survive a year, you live it, and each year leaves you with a mix of ✨ the Gold & the Grey ✨ This quick exercise will help you sift through it all💛

This year? My hope for you is simple: to Flourish!
Not just survive, not just scrape through....flourish like the gorgeous, radiant, life loving human you are.

So, as you start dreaming, planning, and setting your intentions, make space for nurturing yourself like you’d nurture your best friend:

📝 Keep a daily gratitude journal (because perspective is everything)

🌿 Ditch the “shoulds” – they’re stealing your joy

🎉 Celebrate your wins, no matter how “small” they seem

🗣️ Speak to yourself with kindness (yes, out loud is best)

💡 Manage your energy like the precious resource it is

💞 Spend time with loved ones, especially the ones who really fill your cup

🌸 And do more of the things that light you up from the inside

It’s not about doing more.
It’s about doing what matters. This is your permission slip to let go of the noise and step into what you actually need.

So, tell me, which one are you starting with? 👇

Bridges are for connecting us to places we want to go, people who are dear to us and things we want to do.
They are not just for going back and forth.
Just like bridges, we need to be aware of our capacity and our limitations.
Bridges need to be able to support their own weight as well as the weight of the extra traffic they carry.
If not...they, like us, become vulnerable.
We need to be aware of times we feel resentful, or worn down, or forced into accepting something we don't want.
If you feel like people are "walking all over you" - they probably are.
Boundaries, like bridges, are there to control the flow of traffic and control the access.
When Boundaries are broken or bent or worn down, there will be a cost.
Everything will breakdown, the maintenance sign will go up and no-one is getting anywhere fast.
When you set your Boundaries, you are creating space for yourself to thrive!
Take courage lovely, it's time to love yourself enough to re-establish Boundaries that are in line with your emotional capacity.
It is never selfish to to set healthy Boundaries!

Do you struggle with saying NO?
I wonder why you do that?
What's the reason behind that?
The reason why you might bve saying yes instead of no is usually tied to something deeper.
Understanding these reasons can help you move towards setting healthier boundaries to honour your true needs.

When you are going through tough times, it is hard to know what to do.
For Chrissy from Masculine Matters Coaching & Counselling it helped her to start with the basics.
She literally did the best she could with what she had and got on her stationary bike forcing her legs to move.
This is such a great story of resilience, courage, sheer will power and thinking outside the box!
Wherever you are at and whatever you are going through, I hope you are encouraged and inspired.

🎙You can listen to Chrissy's full interview on the Whoa to Go Podcast on Apple or Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts or by clicking here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/.../13728042-choosing-to-live...

Who knew therapy could be so much fun?! 🙌
I'm just over here doing my thing... combining play and creativity to support each of my clients to heal, process and grow!
So much fun!!!
Today it was using funky cards, yesterday it was having a conversation with puppets 🎭
Who knows what tomorrow will bring ? 🤔

Have you ever hit rock bottom and felt like giving up on life?
My friend and colleague, Chrissy Gavin from Masculine Matters Coaching & Counselling walked in for spinal fusion surgery five years ago and things went terribly wrong. She ended up in a wheelchair, unable to walk, unable to care for herself and her whole life was turned upside down. At this point she nearly gave up on life. I’m so glad she found a resilience and strength to keep going.
It doesn't matter what life throws at you, you can still choose to live a good life, even if it doesn't look like how you thought it would.
You get to choose!

Empaths are very special people, they are the healing balm this world needs, but it's not all a bed of roses being an empath.
There are some challenges us highly sensitive people experience.
It is so important that empaths manage themselves and their physical and emotional energy, so they don't end up rocking in a corner or hiding from the world.
Take care of you.

The journey starts here...

I believe that from little things, big things grow.

Every journey no matter how big or how small, begins with one step. Then another and another, until pretty soon you find yourself in a completely different place, having experiences you can only wonder at, that you never would have had if you didn’t take that first step way back at the beginning. That is how it was with the beginning of The Counselling Studio.

After establishing a successful electrical contracting business with my husband, based in the Atherton Tablelands, I wanted to do more to tangibly help people on their own journeys, to empower them rather than just provide power for them. Pun intended! I have always been a natural counsellor walking through the ups and downs of life alongside friends and family, especially supporting them through crisis.

There were three catalysts that led to me taking this counselling path. The first was when a person dear to me experienced the debilitating effects of depression over three hard years. The second, when we had a house guest who experienced the symptoms of a severe panic attack. The third, when I pulled up my shirt sleeves and went on a short term mission trip overseas to Thailand and Cambodia to help with the great work that Destiny Rescue is doing rehabilitating children from sexual slavery. It was then I knew I wanted to learn and grow my own skill set so that I could help others. I had a fire growing in my belly, a passion to help people navigate the twists and turns of life, to be with people for their journey.
