Sad news for the Habana Carols. 32 years and not a single cancellation of the event, until now. Stay safe in this wild weather guys! - Kaley

The Carols committee has decided to cancel the 2024 Habana Carols Under the Stars on Saturday night. It's just too wet.

This was a hard decision, as in 32 years we've never cancelled, not even for covid. Postponing to Sunday was briefly considered but key people aren't available on Sunday, including Santa, who is understandably busy this time of the year.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you at next year's event on Sat 20th Dec 2025.

🌧 A trough and weak low-pressure system will lie near the Queensland coast for the remainder of the week. This trough will draw deep tropical moisture over the coast for the next few days, with rainfall heaviest from Cooktown to Mackay over the next few days. Widespread daily rainfall totals of 35-80mm are likely on Friday. Localised heavier rainfall totals of 150mm in a six-hour period are likely during Friday, with isolated heavier falls exceeding 220mm possible. Campers and tourists near waterways are encouraged to listen to advice from authorities and seek higher ground.
